Hello!
I've been looking to get into EVE (particularly EVE RP) for awhile now, but due to not knowing anyone and being too shy to really get involved I usually ended up quitting during my previous attempts. Figured I should just dive in this time!
I'm not new to RP, having been RPing in various mediums for over a decade, though I'm a bit nervous about trying RP in EVE. It's quite different from the forum/MMO RP I've done in the past. Lorewise I've been keeping up, having been browsing EVElopedia and various threads here on Backstage for the last few days, though with the sheer amount of lore available for EVE I'll likely still make mistakes here and there and so I apologize in advance for that!
I'm interested in getting involved with the Amarr community to start with, though in a somewhat unorthodox manner as my character is an Empire-supporting Minmatar (ex-slave enlightened/indoctrinated enough to stay with the Empire after the emancipation). Am wondering just how to get started, though... I assume joining the Imperial Congregation channel, but what about corporations? I know PIE doesn't accept non-Amarr bloodlines (unless PAUX is still an option?), and I'm not sure what else is out there.
One other question! Is it true that 'modern' capsuleers have to go through an initial euthanization? I read some old posts on it here, but the discussion was about a tutorial change during one of the expansion betas. I didn't see any reference to it in the tutorials while starting up this character a few days ago, unless it was mentioned somewhere in Aura's agent missions and I just missed it.
Anyway, looking forward to getting involved. Will probably take it slow and lurk a bit though, just to get a feel for things.
