I just do no t agree on the severity - "crippling" would be a very strong word.

I'd actually go with "a bullet to the back of the head." as a more accurate metaphor for what TEA did to established Caldari RP.   So many of my friends quite Eve that year  :(

Has the Gallente regional nebula in the background, and a Gallente station for the main menu of Retribution.

Considering the two bigger empires were the ones that got whacked four+ years ago, no reason the both of them will be 'retributive'. There's just been hints of it with the appearance of FedNav CCP actors related to the Tripwire...

Mah. :( I feel compelled to agree with you given the weight of your arguments. Still, I'm waiting for Jamyl to get back on those Shakorite aggressors. >:)

Screw Heth, I'm waiting to see what Jamyl does. The expansion's gotta be called Retribution for a reason, and the Empire hasn't exactly avenged the invasion...

Yet.

Maybe we will also have a gallente retribution...

For once they might move their asses to do something.

Unlikely. They are, after all, limp wristed cheese eating surrender monkeys.

I am assuming here, ofc, that your joking  ;)

I'd love it if we had some Amarrian/Federal revenge and action going on. Long overdue, imho.

It would also be great to get some hard change done on the whole political landscape - liven thigns up a bit. I want to see the Internal Republican changes to parliment and so on, the Imperial re-work of forces after Kador's stunt and the changes to the Mandate and other places, internal Caldari shake-up, some movement to the Federal nations getting it on with actually acting like they exist.

I guess I can sum this up with 'I hope the storyline get's reanimated soon'.

Jamyl has always been portrayed as such a wimpy, weak-willed character that I doubt she'll be up to much of anything of note.

Well, as Empress, ass she really have to do is to order all her military to prepare for the invasion of the Republic/Federation alliance and off they go invade. Weak-willed or not, she's Empress and all the other poor folks can do but two things; obey, or be replaced by those who will.

Having said that, I would not mind an arc that get's Jamyl out of the 'I hate women and so all female characters I touch will be weakish and pitiful' hole that TG made for her.

Dear gods I'm still glad he lost his job. That's just sad all on it's own...

Well if it's speculation time...

Heth dies.

CPD/CBT find out Ishukone hired the trigger man and have been funded by Roden and the Fed for the past 2 years.

FedNav pushes CalNav out of Luminaire in the aftermath of Heth's death.

Patriots launch pogrom against Ishukone for their treason.

Patriots use the death of Heth to turn him into a martyr and launch a second invasion of the Fed.

New Eden should be burning , and should have been burning for the last several years.

I think the Empires have had enough time to 'consolidate' any leadership transitions from TEA and should be putting boots to necks of enemies at this point.

Adds a few steps:

Kassigainen, Tennen, Yashunen (and possibly Hatakani) get occupied by FedNav forces after the CalNav expulsion.

Some within the Federation government call for a permanent occupation:  an expansion of the Gallente side of the Border Zone as reparation for the occupation of Caldari Prime.

The megacorps aren't crazy about this.  However, CONCORD is willing to entertain the idea.  It calls for talks (possibly in Hatakani itself, since it has a station there).

Patriots launch pogrom against Ishukone for their treason.

As I've never read Tony G and am not someone who's in EVE from the start, I have limited knowledge of how Jamyl was portrayed. I choose to ignore Tony G anyways though, and all I've read about Jamyl doesn't really portray her as "a wimpy, weak-willed character".

Well, unless not directly retaliating after the Matari attack counts as wimpy and weak-willed rather than simply intelligent (I tend towards the latter).

I also don't think that New Eden should be burning. It's not really realistic imho, as war isn't really in the interest of any of the Empires: To great costs for too little rewards.

Long story short Jamyl as portrayed in the 'novels' is more of a 'tortured soul' fighting with being possessed by dead ancient beings, drug-induced lesbian daliances, and, and whining about not wanting to be the Empress.

God-Empress of a trillion devoted holy-warriors she is not.

That's the rational part of your brain talking.  If they thought like that the State wouldn't have rolled the entire fleet dice on retaking Caldari Prime, the Matari wouldn't have invaded the Empire, etc.

Ambition and rationality don't always go hand in hand, as most rational people wouldn't willingly kill millions of people to get a little more territory, wealth, and status.
