Bottom line: It's a game. You're the player. You make the rules, the character follows not the other way around.

Pretty much this right here. It's what I did; I got sick of Aldrith being a nice guy so I made him stop being a nice guy.

Well I tried to get back ingame and it's... worse than anything I could have imagined. Almost nobody still left ingame except a few figures I know, almost all the channels I had are dead now besides OOC and the Summit. To be honest everything has never felt more alien and dead to me in that game. Feels like another game.

Am I doing something wrong or did I miss where all the fun is ?  :ugh:

Well, for me it's mostly in space at the moment. I'm actually FC'ing now and leading fleets to glorious victory. The RP I've been doing centers more around this now.

What Aldrith says.  Stasis kills people's enjoyment of EVE.  Go go new order!

Public RP is dead. Till it gets better, stick to private RP venues/arcs.

I've actually been getting back in to a bit of public RP - or at least RP in public venues. Someone does usually have to actually say, 'Hey, why don't we go have a drink at *RP place*', but enough of that and I expect we can get back to where we have people hanging around waiting for chances to interact again.  :D

Agreed, but I kinda like it this way.  I have press releases for public rp.  This is just MY personal preference however and I recognize that for many, public rp is a big deal (as it should be if it is your enjoyment).

We can choose how we want to play the game, I'm not one for public RP myself but I won't be pronouncing it "dead" as I'm sure there are a plethora of individuals who still get involved. Ultimately as long as it's within the EULA/Rules you can RP where you want to, how you want; albeit much to my malign at how some individuals choose to do so.

YMMV; from my perspective, BarP does seem to be on the decline, but the Summit and other public channels are pretty much business as usual.. and there are live events again, and I've seen more stuff happening in-space in the last two months than in the three years before.

To be honest, the best RP I've had in the last year or so has been with random people in local after/before a fight happens.

You RP smack them a bit, they respond in kind to everyones surprise - and suddenly you have a semi-intelligent discussion on all kinds of topics.
This spontaneous stuff is, to me, way more fulfilling than getting the by now standardised and boring "I am a sexually abused slave child, boohoo, DEATH TO AMARR!" the more 'serious' roleplayers offer me.

Although at least on the amarr front, there seems to be a slow diversification away from stereotypes again - and in a good and believeable way, not the, also standardised, "abolish slavery now, its evil! yay, lets hang out with heretics in a bar" stuff.

So much this.  Not had this experience quite as frequently, but I have had the odd GalMil pilot deign to engage in a bit of good rp-wise slanging.
