I. Overview

War is Business.
Business is War.

Strix Defence and Intelligence is a Corporate Security Syndicate of Strix Defence and Intelligence, a Roden Shipyards Subsidiary. Floated through black book funding by the Federal Intelligence Office, Strix Defence and Intelligence manages corporate subsidiaries that conduct deniable assets operations in the interests of Roden Shipyards and the FIO/SDII under the guise of independent third-party corporate-military actions in their interests aimed at affording a degree of plausible deniability to disavow such actions as nothing more than, "Piracy" and, "Terrorism" should it be required.

Operating under a simple and violent philosophy of advancing and protecting the interests of  Roden Shipyards and the Gallente Federation by any means possible. Strix Defence and Intelligence conducts black operations consisting of corporate/industrial espionage, kill-capture and rendition, active measures of misinformation, information network penetration and denial, and pacification operations under the directives of peace, security and anti-terrorism in addition to the more traditional methods of deploying high-explosive ordnance in space.

For the Operatives of STRIX there are no such things as Truth, Justice, Ethics or Morality.  There is only the interests of the Gallente Federation and the agendas of Roden Shipyards. Such flawed concepts are for the baseliners living below the High Towers of steel, glass and concrete that STRIX occupies. In service to the Federation nothing is denied and everything shall be permitted for as capsuleers there is no saving ourselves or New Eden, we were damned the moment we accepted the implants, and there is only power, violence, and profit in the name of the Federation.

STRIX as an organization is deeply fascist, corporatist, authoritarian and militarist it is also progressive and forward-thinking enough to understand that a wide diversity of backgrounds are required to achieve its aims. Gaultiers of hedonism and excess, socialites of cause celebres, scions of high finance, arms dealers and industrialists, criminals with dubious pasts are just as useful to ensuring successful operations as former members of the intelligence community and military. Serve the Federation and the Federation will serve you. Ambition and self-interest are just as legitimate reasons as duty and loyalty in working as a STRIX Operative.

STRIX is but the corporate framework intended to promote and support Fed RP with a wide scope for its members as it explores the darker side of the Federation beyond the facade of the histrionics of democratic politics, liberal idealism and the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry. A world of lies and deceit, intrigue, espionage, dirty politics, corporate corruption, ruthless realpolitik and hidden agendas created with smoke and brandy. Above all else there is only Power.

As for Democracy, Rights and Liberty?

So, looks like you've completely dispensed with the false humanitarian operations (or you're going to at least be up front about their being a beard for other forms of peace, love and incorporation).  Excellent.  It'll reduce the odds that some of your recruits'll get a nasty surprise on down the road.

I think it is an attitude/image that is sorely needed for a segment of Federation RP.  It would be cool to see a contrasting organization arise that is the "white knight" corp.   A White/Black Hat combo would provide opportunities for internal conflict as well.

Well humanitarian operations would generally be classed under Public Relations and general deployment of kittens. Of course, previously there appeared to be a misunderstanding in that it can be a grievous error in believing your own propaganda. Again, the difference between perceptions and reality. STRIX are just the good guys getting their hands soaked in blood so that fellow citizens are kept free and pure of such barbarity. A noble sacrifice wouldn't you say?

Well, every good story needs their antagonists as well their heroes. I think it's an issue not only isolated to Fed RP but in general where things threaten to stagnate if there's not enough people willing to walk on the darker and more confrontational side of life.
