You're the one who doesn't get it. It's simply a video, it's meant to provoke a patriotic response from people wanting to support the State (since WHG is a State-loyal corp). It's not supposed to give you information, it's simply supposed to interest you.

The corp name drop then makes you go, "Huh, I wonder what these guys are about" and you look us up in one of the various places we have information (in game, forums, here, etc). That's really all it's for.

As for the video - it's just what I'd expect from a bunch of patriotic Caldari that feel the need to defend the State from the Federation by attacking first. 

As for it being a propaganda piece well that's pretty obvious and it carries all the typical themes: Exile and return, honor and commitment to the State etc etc but everyone does propaganda during war, hell, even Walt Disney did propaganda.

That being the case, I'd say you have achieved all you wanted with this. I'm merely thinking "Interesting information presentation" when I think of a recruitment video, not "Interest raising teaser" as such, but it should work well for your needs. IIRC there were a link for more info in the description, so people know where to go for the things I "missed" from this video.

I'll take me leave and let this tread go it's course, I got clarification for all the things I wondered about.

I'm a little worried about the video, honestly. For reasons other than the above-stated opinion on the Caldari mindset.

What's the video supposed to do? As a recruitment piece for a corp I'm assuming that providing info about that corp is desired. It does none of that.

Towards the end we get the corp name and an emblem, and a bit later after that, the "recruitment is open" message. Great, so we know three things.

Other than that the video is very much a Pro-Caldari possibly Anti-Gallente piece with generalized themes in it, it really don't tell us much about the corp it was made for; what do they do, who leads, where do they live, what do they want, am I fit to join?

It is an IC video. It is not going to tell "join us we do many things, pvp, pve, WH, industry, mining, we are a good bucnh of people that want to have fun in eve, and we work with a communist system".

However, can we please keep negativity of that nature out of the thread? That's a viewpoint I can understand a Federal character having, but it's hardly something to bring into OOC.

So, we joined STPRO and everyone seems pretty upset about that IC. It got me thinking, I created the Honor Guard under Wiyrkomi because they seemed to focus the most on honesty and integrity in their dealings and I couldn't find anything in-game or various resource sites that would indicate they were anything but. (Other than the shadiness behind their current leadership family).

However, apparently there's been some recent updates to the CPD and the Patriot bloc since I left and came back and I haven't found them yet either. Is Wiyrkomi a staunch supporter of the Provists as has been suggested or is that simply political maneuvering IC?

Honor and shadiness of the Setuoda family seem to still be there.

I do not think there is a clear PF reference to that megacorp being a staunch supporter of the provists. Of course though, patriots are probably the closests ones of the provists since the Kalaakiota is under Heth's direction, and that even if they do not trust Heth the slightest and may disagree with him on several points, he still goes in what usually pleases patriots : Caldari military might and superiority, protective of the state at all costs.
