I really wish the storyline team would interact with the player base more.  Of all the supposed 'transparency with the player-base' they are the ones I'd love to be the most transparent.

Could be worse. Sansha Kuvakei could randomly make his appearence in the incursions to get farmed for purps.

All right, Abaddon you are primary tanker. Get aggro as soon as you land.

Tempests, hold 20 seconds upon confirm of Abaddon aggro. Apply moar DPS as soon as you land. Make sure you stay down the left side to not trigger Kuvakei's proc. and manage your DPS so you don't get aggro.

Dominixes, stay near Abaddon and apply DoT with drones. Mana drain with neuts.

Guardians, Abaddon is your primary for heals and Dominixes your primary for mana boosts.

Damnation, you're providing us all with buffs, correct? Good.

All right. Remember if any of you screw up: minus 50 dkp!

On topic though: CCP has always had a history of pushing forward a storyline, getting about half-way and then just letting it sit there for an indeterminate period of time and then simply wrapping it up abruptly. Eventually, one realizes that there is never going to be actual participation or input on the part of players into the 'official' storyline in the absence of AURORA. Better to focus on ones own fictional contrivances. Perhaps my only gripe currently is that ever since Empyrean Age there has been a movement on the part of CCP to move things towards grand and sweeping fictional gestures: War has come to New Eden! Mysterious wormholes open throughout the Cluster! Sansha Kuvakei returns once more!

All of which appears less to do with creating a coherent background focusing on the interplay between factional elements and their relationship with the rise of capsuleers and more with trying to draw in subscribers with, "Oh shiny" storylines that are supported only until the next expansion and the next exciting and explosive development in New Eden that looms on the horizon.

A cynical view perhaps, but one that I'll hold to.

AURORA didn't have the ability to do it either.

They were hobbled to hell and back.

Yes, but there was a greater sense of involvement and participation in the background during the time AURORA was active. Even if all that existed was only the potential of involvement, it still added to the sense that actions could have consequence in the grand scheme of things (however small). There was always that possibility of further engagement with the world. Even if it was only illusory.

Currently, being too fussed over the state of the storyline seems pointless as the actions of players and characters make little impact upon it and its only utility is in how developments may potentially affect characters and organizations (if at all) and as a fictional resource.

Besides, you already said it best Graelyn:

...focus on affecting the things that you actually matter in: your own stories.

Because that's where the engagement exists, not in the storyline.

I imagine that the storyline will advance itself considerably during the downtimes for the Incursion patch.

Doesnt he already appear in one of the level 4 missions pirate invasion (sansha)?

CCP still has to update the names of certain ceo's of npc corps. i.e. The Court Chamberlain.

For what it's worth, I actually talked to... I think Gnauton, years ago, about this. It turns out that this is an area of the game architecture that CCP didn't put a lot of forethought into back when the game launched. It is apparently extremely annoying to change the CEO position of an NPC corp, as they're hardcoded in some way. Like, it's been done (like with the Heirs getting replaced) but each change apparently requires a dedicated server patch each time. So it often gets left by the wayside since it's a huge, huge PITA to do (and apparently you can actually break stuff if you change the CEO improperly).

So it's annoying, but there's at least a reason for it.

A commander Draben Kuvakei appears in the mission "Vengeance".

His relationship to Sansha Kuvakei is not mentioned, if there even is one.

I believe it's been established that Kuvakei is a relatively common Caldari surname (the events and PF surrounding Vremaja Idama's wife Vika comes to mind). Probably just a coincidence, but who knows!

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.
