This seems to have kind of flown under the radar, so starting a thread here:
- Original
dev blog and
thread.
- Event runs from July 1st to the 31st.
- 3 'tiers' of difficulty - the 1st tier seems to be all highsec, so I'm guessing the 2nd part would be less travelled lowsec and the 3rd nullsec or particularly nasty low (e.g., Rancer or Amamake).
- First tier reward: Zephyr (wormholers rejoice!), value around 25m. Second tier reward: Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher and 10x Sisters Core Probes, value around 48m. Third tier reward: Low-grade Virtue Alpha, value around 80-85m.
- Each tier also gives you a varying number of entries into a grand prize drawing for 10x PLEX and your name on a landmark somewhere.
- Pictures need to be taken on Tranquility and while uncloaked, with a relevant channel open and timestamp/system info visible; I expect the channel in particular serves as a verification of Tranquility being used, as CCP will probably have created an identically named but different channel on SiSi as a safeguard.
Seems interesting - certainly a nice way to keep things fresh while much of Team Illuminati is off on Summer Vacation. I have two major questions about this, though: First, how "photoshop proof" will this event be? Given that several bits of EVE's UI are basically rectangles, it'd seem to me that falsifying certain critical bits of info would be decently easy. I suppose they could run an actual log-check to see if every entry had actually visited the relevant systems, but that'd seem to me to be a lot of :effort:.
Second, the Sisters say that "It'll be nice to have the capsuleers focused on something other than explosions for a while." Then they propose sending us into dangerous space with no cloaks allowed. Sisters, do we even live in the same universe?
