This is fake, and not even a good or believable troll.

If they had the data, they wouldn't be public about this and they wouldn't wait so long. And absolutely nobody involved, including his political opponents who supposedly have received a copy of the files, has confirmed a damn thing.

These sorts of things crop up nearly every damn week and very rarely come to anything. For whatever reason, Gawker / Mashable / et al. bit hard on this particular one. Although, considering the recent examples of Gawker journalism, that shouldn't surprise me, as they're less reliable than your local alt rags.
