That's what I love about it. It's so sick. The technology permits a degree of perversion and twistedness never before seen.

I imagine Eve celebrities are quite fastidious about maintaining their genetic code to themselves, lest obsessive fans capture a stray skin cell and go to work.

Unless we're both fantasizing about eleven devoted Britney Spears sex clones besieging our eleven-headed wang tree with their fun bits, I think you're safe.

Actually now that I think about it, a wang tree is impractical due to fitting issues. Perhaps the eleven wangs would be arranged around the hips, so that engaging eleven sex clones would require the same manner of motion required to sustain a hula-hoop in balance.

God I wish I could stop thinking.

Ever read Mallworld? Maybe the hooker-blob solution the author used would work in this case.  It'd require less effort than hula-hooping the pseudo Britneys.

IC-wise, the two breeds of infomorph are supposedly based on vastly different technologies, with DUSTers built with actual enhanced and re-configured brain systems meant for rapid and repeated (almost casual) cloning, while capsuleer implant systems are meant solely to enhance man/machine synchronicity on a starship-sized scale and facilitate the uploading of fucktons of raw technical data through skillbooks.

I'm sure that a more definitive answer will wind up on our doorsteps sooner or later, but based on what we have now, the two techs should not be interchangable.

Assuming for a second that it isn't all that different (despite current evidence, retcons do happen), you have to deal with some big numbers. Being compatible with DUST tech is a one in a billion anomaly, being capsuleer capable is also one in a billion. Being compatible for both seems like a big number with a lot of zeroes in it...

The odds are something like one in one quintillion.

tl;dr, your character's a special snowflake already, no need to make him/her a special snowflake among the special snowflakes?

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

I think capsuleers will view dusties with general disdain, not envy. No capsuleer enjoys getting podded, so placing oneself in a situation where one could expect many deaths in rapid succession wouldn't really appeal to them. If anything, capsuleers will regard dusties as improved cannon-fodder granted a slice of their glory. Still beneath them, as all dusties can command is their own bodies and armoured suits, while capsuleers can command fleets.
