Jason is a confusing character when you get to know him.. I try to keep him continually evolving. At the moment, he's Neutral Good (imo the most essentially good alignment), though he's in the past been Lawful Good and True Neutral (imo the most consequentially evil alignment). If I were to sum up Jason's character/viewpoints with one quote,

First, Jason had written off committed relationships and marriage due to a strong distaste for the behavior, priorities and intellectual pursuits of what he perceived to be most women. So, the fact that he found someone that he truly saw eye to eye with enough to actually love them and dive into a relationship, is itself a bit of a miracle and a total change in his personality resulted from it. This led to the second issue, his butchered former fiancee's shadow (see below) over his attempts at recommitting himself romantically, leading to a bit of personal distance and awkwardness. The lack of comfortable, consistent small talk and 'slice of life' with his lover leads him to fill in the gaps of knowledge about her with logical projections of ideals based on what he knows about her that made him fall in love with her. In truth, he knows very little about her background, her family, her goals, and what makes her 'tick'. This is also partly a result of three, which is the natural issues with capsuleer relationships, particularly where one party lives in Anoikis and the other lives in New Eden and they're combat capsuleers for different, unaffiliated corporations. One, capsuleers cannot easily have children, settle down, and raise a normal family which is a high life priority for a traditionalist Mannar like Jason. The distance of the relationship and infrequency of meeting with his beloved cause him to idealize her rather than understand her, and this uncertainty over building a true family with his beloved causes a degree of angst and, ironically, may in the future lead to either a potential lack of consistent commitment or an extreme lifestyle change in order to reconcile this distance/lifestyle problem and commit. I'm surprised at the sheer volume of tropes the site accurately categorizes, though it's lacking in some ways (Unless I'm missing something): it seems to lack tropes involving struggles between materialism and spiritualism, and the asymmetrical struggles between nihilism, relativism, objectivism, and meaning/purpose. The conflict these themes can bring into a character's struggles are huge.. they're big questions in life, after all. I wish there was more on this, because both of those are big conflicts in Jason's world.
Well, now I'm perplexed. I created this combination of traits/history that Jason has mostly piecemeal through RP with others, I didn't really 'plan' him out, although there were some inspirations I had in mind. And it seems I've made a much more complicated character than I intended to (ah, the joys of RP). I ought to flesh Jason out more with a proper character sheet.[/spoiler]
