It does seem it was all a sudden flurry of newsposts & then 'Roden is president, yay!' Note, I do like they did something with this. Can't shake the feeling CCP perhaps mixed up their dates? causing an 'oh crap it's on 29 january!' realization & making a flurry op posts.
That said, if you look deeper in some of the stuff mentioned, there's some relevance to older stuff, like the Bombing report, the Serpentis Death cult mentioned there actually has older reports mentioning them.
The Artist on the other hand, with his focus on Minmatar integration is a reminder of the several newsarticles in the past regarding the Federation & their relation to Minmatar immigrants.
