This, Star Citizen, and Elite Dangerous will individually fill different niches within the space sim genre.

Specifically, November 15th for EU and November 19th for the US release.

Is this an MMO? Because It seemed to me like if so, they might actually be gunning for EVE's niche.

Besides the awful lighting and over saturated colors, that game looks quite awesome.

Too bad it is not a MMO, I tend to find sandboxes boring in solo .___.

No, but that suits me just fine. I tend to boot up X3 when I want to get away from a space MMO ...
