Biography: Born on Caldari Prime, in a Hyasyoda enclave, to Arkaiken and Samiko Kleist. At 16 he was transferred to Hyasyoda’s enforcement and security arm, the Corporate Police Force. Applied for the Caldari Navy and obtained his 2nd Lieutenant’s commission in YC 91.

First placing was as 2nd systems officer of the Scorpion-class battleship CN Saajani, Onirvura Sector Fleet. Promoted to Lieutenant in YC 95, and to  Lieutenant-Commander in YC 100. His first command was the Blackbird-class cruiser CN Saayanen in YC 101. Transferred to Task Force “Hammerhead”, Caldari Border Zone Sector Fleet, in YC 104. Official reasons cited were a desire for more frontline action, though there are rumors of clashes with superior officers who disagreed over Lt-Cdr. Kleist’s tactical choices.

Promoted to Commander in YC 106. Took part as commander of the Caracal-class cruiser CN Ujiro in the preventive peacekeeping deployment of Caldari Navy Forces along Kaalakiota security naval assets during the Kassigainen Riots. Operation [CLASSIFIED] [DELETED] [DELETED] [CLASSIFIED].

Was advanced to the rank of Captain in YC 107 prior to his honorable discharge from the Navy. [FILE MISSING]. Undertook capsuleer training under Caldari Navy funding immediately after. Licensed by the State War Academy in YC 109.

Naval service record is full of close calls and commendations. While his analytical capabilities and sense of initiative are high, Captain’s Kleist’s very loose regard for the chain of command and tendencies to rely more on his gut feelings and personal evaluations, would have ensured that he would never rise to flag rank, had he remained in the Navy. You say the political affiliation is practical, but Hyasoda is liberal. Is there a reason for the opposite State-faction alignments?

Well the rough outline is that while he was born in a Hyasyoda community, his experiences have changed the outlook that he had grown up with, while he would be milder in his views than most Practicals out there, and still hold a lot of respect for the Liberal viewpoint.
