Linking things with parentheses
« on: 03 May 2013, 13:10 »

Hey guys.

There've been some complaints about the forum eating the closing parenthesis when linking pages that have them in their URL.

There are a couple workarounds that aren't quite obvious at first glance, so here are the two I usually use:

Broken: Pasting the URL by itself.
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Falling_Skies_(Chronicle) becomes http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Falling_Skies_(Chronicle)

Workaround #1: Putting [url][/url] tags around the whole link.
[url]http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Falling_Skies_(Chronicle)[/url] becomes http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Falling_Skies_(Chronicle)

Workaround #2: Giving the link a label.
[url=http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Falling_Skies_(Chronicle)]Label[/url] becomes Label

Hopefully this is helpful to people. /o\

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.
