That blue thingy popping out of the broken cake like a freaking cake-burster intrigues me.

What is this about even?

... Earth Day has been around for a long time. Have you guys been living under a rock? We celebrated it in school while I was growing up, even. Heck, I've got an Earth Day sticker on my trashcan, and the stickers on my trashcan are from like 15-20 years ago. <.<

Basically, it's an environmental holiday. At least, that's how I've always been exposed to it. A day to recycle, day to plant trees, day to overall respect and support the planet. So, far from a "marketing ploy".

A day to recycle, day to plant trees, day to overall respect and support the planet.

Recycling is just common sense.

Planting trees to replace trees used in industry is common sense as well.

So is the overall respect and having a personal connection to the nature.

I do understand that if a nations culture does not have these things innately then a publicity stunt like Earth Day can raise awareness, but celebrating Earth Day as an intellectual penance for being a consumer sounds silly to me.

Meh, courses for horses.

I am fine with any 'special day' so long as it has gifs of that calibre.

if the cake was purpose made for throwing at the ground on Earth Day, it may be a blue mini globe. If it's just a dropped birthday cake, it may be a blue number candle or other decor item that was on top of the cake.

For those of you who don't know the origin of the gif: Throw it on the Ground.

This, I guess. I have never heard of Earth day, but then again that might be due to me living in Norway, we don't celebrate it apparently.
