Greetings capsuleers! I've been planetbound for quite some time and just recently came back to the game with a broken wallet but willing to have some fun again.
I was wondering what are the most active RP channels around as of late.
I'll appreciate any information as well as any ongoing player driven arc/plot/scheme.

April's loyalties are pretty much to CROW and NOH. Although we are knowing for drinking with disgruntled Patriots and Practicals are supposed to be ok with Heth... Quote from Evelopedia:

And that's pretty much the stance CROW held since the war onset.
As for our ties with NOH, well, that usually mean there is a little bit of shady business.

You should drop into the Falcon's Rook sometime, it's sort of the quasi-pilots bar for the corporate mercenaries that currently constitute the Pyre Falcon Defence Combine. Usually quiet with a small clientele but active if someone drops by when people are also busy shooting things.

I digress, but as a player of a Practical with NOH leanings, given recent events my personal perspective is that whilst Quinzel is extremely grateful for the work that Heth has done, that time foreshadowed in your quote has begun.
