Experimenting with Avatar expression
« on: 26 Aug 2012, 06:51 »

Even though I've let my subscription run out couple of months ago, I still like to experiment with the new avatar editor. It is a challenge to see if I can get a decent semblance of lifelike emotive expressions. Also gives me new appreciation how subtle our facial expression really are: sometimes a 1-2 mm. in one direction or the other can make a huge difference in the expression. I've not yet mastered 'the trick' to achieving certain expressions consistently, it seems each character has a different combination of things that render a certain expression. Anyone have tips? Below some of my experiments from today:

Posing for the camera

Would be nice if you could store expressions to re-use them later.

Definitely.

As for tips for expressions? I think the limits of expression vary quite a lot amongst bloodlines.

And those limits are subject to change, for example, I can't use the character creator without losing the current smiley face I have. it is impossible to recreate that smile now. Which prevents me from changing clothing or jewellery or anything else as well.
