As an aside, how did all national anthems in the world end up being played with a Western classical orchestra anyway?

"Imperialism"?

Because if they used an Eastern classical orchestra they'd all sound like this? *flees*

2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

Looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_anthem#History I'd say it's probably got a lot to do with the idea of a national anthem being a 19th-century European thing that got spread around the world.

What Mata and Mith said. Pretty much, Imperialism. I hear it was quite popular about a century or so ago.

I have to completely disagree with your selection for the Minmatar anthem, because I have heard a far better one:

The national anthem of Zimbabwe while I lived there. The current version is different.

I dont know, but definitely has a bit of the chest-beating that the one in the OP lacks.

I would think that the Gallente would have an anthem more like the Spanish one.

Where the singing is done by going 'lol' with the tune.

Amarrians probably do not have a national anthem, the nation and the religion are inseparable.

Probably one of the more common hymns could be used in place of one, but a regular amarrian probably knows oodles of them.

Minnies?

Because of the Gallente influence they would probably have something along the lines of Shakiras 'Waka waka'.

State would probably have none, just anthems for the different corporations...

Sansha's Nation would have an anthem much like this, I imagine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftXCYxB5fgc

In fact, it could be used almost verbatim. It fits so well, it's eerie.

I thought the Minmatar would have a national anthem more like this.

Being revolutionaries and all...

As for Amarr, I'd think the religious aspects would outweigh the imperial aspects in the anthem, like this.

I don't think that a lack of separation of nation and religion is a reason for not having a national anthem.

The Queen is head of the Anglican church and the British Empire, still the Empire has an anthem.
If that's not enough: theVatican has an anthem, too.

I disagree.

What use has Nation for the outward projection of loyalty to the cause when the song of Nation (IE the constant murmer of the nearby nodes within the collective) is constantly enforcing and encouraging that loyalty, even without overt mind control.

The main purpose of having such a song in Nation would be more to speak to those outside the Unity, if anything.
