To be fair, EVE-RP is dead because we're letting it die. As the RP community, we can make RP happen in spite of the PF, especially since we're collectively determining what is and what isn't considered "true to RP" on a daily basis.

Whatever happened to those things like Tech Four and ANN? Maybe something similar to those -- though maybe with a focus on producing a greater volume of smaller stories, with discussion and analysis left to characters in game -- would help?

If anybody has an interest in something like that, go ahead and contact me; once my kidneys stop trying to off me and once I'm through the next couple of weeks of work, I should have some free time that I could see about applying to it.

(Vis a vis "deciding what is and isn't canon" -- definitely. I can't recall who recently posted that TonyG's (to pick the most egregious, if not the only, example) influence on RP is as big as we make it, but it's an idea I quite like.)

ANN is Milo's thing, so not sure on that front - T4 is Seismic Stan's baby, and as far as I know it's still semi-active.

3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

The simple idea of a fleet blowing up a single CONCORD station, even being their HQ, and putting them down, is highly ludicrous. One would think that they have emergency protocols for that kind of scenario.

Oh well anyway, everything is ludicrous. They replaced old charismatic leaders by non coherent and flat new characters.

If they didn't before this event, they likely do now. Remember that most security systems, alarms, protocols and fail safes are in place now because someone did something first that brought attention to their need. It's pretty easy to assume that CONCORD probably felt that no one would dare try something like that.

The Story of Little Red Riding Hood as written by TonyG.

Quote
Once upon a time there lived in a certain village a little girl.  Her mother was very fond of her, and her grandmother loved her even more.   This good old woman made for her a red cloak,  which suited her so well that forever after she was known a Little Red Riding hood.  One day her mothermade some cakes and said to Little Red Riding Hood, "Go my dear and see how Grandmother fairs, for I hear she has been ill.  Carry her a Cake and a little pot of butter."

Little Red Riding Hood landed her rocket ship, and began preparing for her assault on the evil techno vikings, who'd slain her parents and grandparents in an attack on Riding Hood station.   The rescue teams had found but one survivor, an infant girl covered in the blood of her family.   The name Little Red Riding Hood had stuck.

As she finished her preps for the coming battle, she couldn't help but think lustfully about her ruggedly handsome lover, Gony T.   How could a mere woman face off against the Techno Vikings without a powerful, virile, sexually dominating, and well endowed man like Gony T fighting by her side?

Did you guys know that the Brothers of Freedom Arc was pretty much the same plot as Heth's rise?   There was even a mysterious shadow figure calling him self "The Patriot"  that we kind of figured was probably the Broker even before TEA was published.

I remember thinking to myself, "What the fuck?  Why are we having an event were Kaalakiota, the most benevolent of the eight megas suddenly mistreating it's employees over night and going against everything it stands for?"

You're linking teasers to try and support Prime Fiction. The videos you're linking are entirely meant to get people excited about upcoming events in the game (and to draw in new players), they are not designed to represent lore or display things in chronological order. According to PF, the Minmatar Elder Fleet showed up out of nowhere, completely unexpectedly.

Wait what? :P  "According to PF, the Minmatar Elder Fleet showed up out of nowhere, completely unexpectedly." Read the book....... read dont act gallente :P.... seriously another Gallente-typ discussion?

Read.... read and read...... the link was just as example.... but it is in the book too.... I know... I know..

"Dude, listen reading is naz*  :P..... say me the chapter?"
Sure no problem: In my soft version starts on page 373-375 in the Chapter 43

"Dude, listen reading in the book is naz*; give me the wiki link"  :P.....
Sure no problem: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Year_YC110

"Only a few minutes after their arrival and menacing encirclement of the CONCORD headquarters, the mystery capitals and escorts jumped out of the system without a shot being fired." A monats later they show up again... If that is "completely unexpectedly" for you okay.... I can life with that... but you also have to life with, that I say BS... and make my stupid Osama example... sorry.

Maybe you will re-think ,I youte: "they are not designed to represent lore or display things in chronological order" I know...it sound so right.... but ehm NO.... you wrong... this teasers where meant to do that; and not more..... If they fail, to give the imformation than two options are possible:
  • The EA-expantion-trailers are bad in giveing the chronological order to the viewer or;
  • They problem could be on between mouse and monitor.

I bitch a little more, because I had to grap this book again to find the pages... really? Valadeus why you doing that to me? :P

P.S. You -- as lore pro -- can you say to me; what was Tony G goal for the first visit of the fleet? What dialoge had he bring to the chapter?.... and maybe a second one.... what you think, is there a better way to fulfill this goal?

That kind of thing could have happened in the middle-age, I could understand that. In advanced societies like our own, and even eve, I still find that kind of security loophole ludicrous, at best. Which military doctrines tell that when central command stops responding, you have to do nothing ? They put all their admirals and officers in the same station HQ ? What prevents them to retaliate for a WHOLE DAY ? They all dead ? .-.

Same remark for the Amarr Navy when the Elders invade them, btw. The Elders can jump from Yulai to Domain and Derelik in a few moments when the Amarr Navy sit on their asses watching their world burn ? Thats stupid.

My understanding from the novel was that the CONCORD electronic system that allows them to detect wrong-doers and warp instantly to them to ruin their day was centrally controlled. Without that useful tool, the Concord ships couldn't be the overwhelming force we've come to know and love. Honest. Besides, without that sort of thing, how could we let the 4 factions fight in highsec and yet have it all stop when the patch was done?

Well, the Elder fleet had a titan with each battlegroup, so was obviously unstoppable until :Jamyl:

This.

Without their central system in highsec, CONCORD - while tough in base stats - is easy to deal with. Pirate missioners fight them all the time, and going against swarms of DED battleships is feasible.
