I've found myself thinking of them as the 1%.

I don't think that in New Eden the economical imbalance is of same proportions as it is in real world.

I think its closer to 0.001%

The power structures have been in place for much longer than in our time and they have been abused as ruthlessly.

I've found myself thinking of them as the 1%.

That makes a lot of sense, it especially explains the whole "Are worshiped and obeyed by the rest of the Matari" meme, which they obviously want to believe, whether it's true or not.

70% through Templar One, and just met the Enhuadanni(sp) for the first time. Not completely rubbish, but an inferior copy of Ken MacLeod's treatment of singularity and the threat thereof to those left behind. Still no evidence that the information is available to the average punter though.

Seriously, Templar One is much better written than TEA.

It's still pretty terrible, however.

I agree with both of these statements.

I only really disliked the whole Lord Falek Grange character which I feel had Mary Sue written all over. I am convinced that if Tony G was to write a third novel Lord Falek Grange would have returned from the dead.

In addition, you might want to read Ruthless. It puts into context just about everything in relation to Ishukone.

Even the name of the AI. :D

Was Ruthless the one where we find out that the Raven is some brand new, super secret pwn machine while the scorpion is the old, out of date workhorse that looses the battle of railguns vs torpedoes? and had lots of main characters in pods that lacked cloning capability so blowing up a pod killed the pilot?

Yes, it was. As most EVE-novels, it is well written and somewhat entertaining, but dear god, the PF violations...

Yes, Ruthless (or maybe its Theodicy?) that is the source of the mixup between the Raven and Scorpion in Caldari PF.

Ruthless. Theodicy is the one with shield-tanking Armageddons.

I like the implications of Gallentians being punched in the face by walking up to a Minmatar as they so freely use another person's culture as a fad.

Bit of a necro here but I didn't want to kick off a thread just to post a link. I keep a bookmark of Wikipedia's random page for occasional bored browsing. Today it took me to this page and I immediately thought of Jamyl in TEA... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lasius_umbratus
