The return of ASCII art isn't a bad thing. You young whippersnappers don't know how good you have it! Back in the BBS days, downloading a 80k JPEG was a luxury -- EVERYTHING was ASCII graphics and maybe, MAYBE, ANSI color schemes.

No sigs/banners isn't much of a loss for me. Having to login just to see them all the time, coupled with the fubar login problems and seemingly erratic login durations, means I rarely got to see them anyway. I'm sure it also cuts down on the amount of checking up they had to do on people's sigs, and making sure all the sizes and dimensions were to specifications...

I remember my Godfather running a "Spitfire BBS site" growing up, mind you, I was about 8 years of age at that time but I remember. There was a awesome text based rpg called Usurper that I used to play on it.
