At the bottom of Seri's link there is a "hint" icon.  Never noticed those before.  When clicked it says:

GalNet = Intergalactic Summit. Those making their in-character points with grace and conviction, and backing them up with in-game action, will win the adulation of the masses and are likely to be included in the storyline.

Confirmed. Bloody Hands of Matar ftw

Completely derailing, I wonder what's the relation between the CCRA (CONCORD Communications Regulation Agency) and the CRC (ISD Communications Relay Commission, i.e. old volunteer forum mods).

And yes, many advanced characters have the buying power to buy a planet or so. They're bound to have fans.

ISK is worthless outside space.

ISK is worthless outside space.

Do you have a citation for that?

My understanding is that it is a 'trade currency' - you couldn't buy a sandwich with it, but you could buy pallets of space-bologna. As such, it can also be converted into local currencies (or corporate scrip, as the case may be) directly or indirectly (buy a commodity in ISK, sell it in local currency, for example.)

I haven't seen anything that indicated it couldn't be used for large purchases on a planet, even if it isn't entirely common.

As a result, there is only minimal interaction between the two [planetary and space economies] when compared to the massive scale of interstellar trading.

(I'm guessing that's what Lallara is referring to. Mind you it also allows for "localized economies", so maybe while isk is not used on most planetsides, it is still useful in some places.)

Seems to indicate that people will only trust their local currency as far as they can trust their leadership, and will jump at ISK whenever possible.

It might make sense (and Stairway to Heaven suggests it too) that this one of the things that's changing currently in the EVE world?

Why thank you Ken. :3

... really, Spanglish? I never cared for it, but a lot of my friends demanded I see it...

Of course they all demanded I go see Avatar with them too, and I didn't fall for that one either. >>

Oh, you meant the movie? Whoops, my bad.

Nothing to see here, this off-topic excursion will now end.
