Imperial Biographical Summery.

Holder Basil Ardis was born youngest child of a provincial Holder.  Ardis spent his childhood learning the proper order of people and things.  As a young teenager he spent a short time as a captive of Matar rebels.  Ardis being the third son had been trained for the Clergy.  All of Basil’s siblings, two brothers and one sister died prior to his father’s death.  Leavening him heir to his father’s modest holdings.

Finding himself the family Patriarch the order of his life quickly changed.  Already in his forties he was quickly matched and married to Reia Ronlth the spinster daughter of the Planetary Administrator.  The marriage by all accounts is a happy, harmonious union which has proven advantageous for all concerned.

Today Holder Ardis presides over ever growing estate.  Understanding the limitations of his position on such a provincial world he recently became a capsular.  Giving him even more independence of thought and deed.

Ashokon IX
Holder Ardis is considered a social liberal but a religious and political conservative by many of his peers.  Being careful never to seem extreme he has instituted many progressive changes on his Holdings in relation to the treatment of living property.

Reforms.
Two years after his elevation Holder Ardis instituted the following reforms.

1.   After seven years of indenture slaves are granted their freedom.
2.   Children of slaves born within the indenture are freed at the age of 26.
3.   Children born of freed slaves are free.

Freed slaves are offered where available jobs and subsidized living allowances.  The majority of freed slaves have chosen to stay and continue their work.  Those who wish to leave are put in contact with the Sister Servants of Eve or other humanitarian organizations for transport to a place of their choosing.  New properties are added as attrition demands and are subject to the same terms.  Holder Ardis has noted a significant improvement in the productivity and a corresponding decline in aberrant behaviors since the implementation of his simple reforms.
