Orpana Constellation - Region: The Forge – Security Status 23341 AD 18:20:15 (0.5)

Wirashoda Solar System was first colonized in 23302 AD, by the private efforts of Hyasyoda Corporation who provided the capital to set up the Uchoshi – Wirashoda gate system. Originally interested in the riches of the 3 local asteroid belts, the corporation soon discovered the unexploited resources lying in the moons and planets of the system.

In 23305 AD the first station became operational, orbiting around Wirashoda VII – Moon 5, the Hyasyoda Corporation Mining Outpost. Initially providing only repairshop and fitting services, during these early years mineral reprocessing was performed in the Uchoshi neighbour system, at the Uchoshi XI - Moon 12 - Hyasyoda Corporation Mineral Reserve station. By 23310 they included reprocessing, insurance and other services to the station. The decision of placing this station was motivated by the abundance of ice resources on Wirashoda VII – Moon 5.

Later that year, Hyasyoda Corporation arranged a trade agreement with Caldari Provisions and helped them establish themselves in the system, the former providing the know-how, resources and necessary infrastructure to set up a fully operational outpost in exchange for the food production Caldari Provision specializes on.

The executive panel of Hyasyoda Corporation decided to perform additional investments into the system after some scientific discoveries concerning the local star. The project was discussed on the CEP Panel of 23311 AD, but the details or motivations behind this decision remain classified.

In 23312 AD the CEP gave a green light to the project publicly know as the Solari Constructs, and these installations became fully operational by the end of 23312. The constructs consisted of a series of solar harvesters whose original purpose was to provide the energy needed for large scale mineral refining.

That very same year Caldari Provisions station Wirashoda VIII - Moon 5 - Caldari Provisions Plantation became fully operational and soon after its productivity reached the expected projections, providing enough resources to satisfy the local market needs and even export their surplus to other systems in the Orpana Constellation.

In 23313 AD Hyasyoda Corporation embarked on the construction of settlements in Wirashoda II and Wirashoda VII. While the true reasons behind these colonization efforts were never disclosed, the oxygen rich atmospheres of those two celestial bodies seem to be the main reason. Habitable domes were built on these two planes, and although the intention to carry on terraforming labours was never mentioned, the scientists assigned to these planetary outposts were commissioned to focus their research on atmosphere analysis. Agreements with Zainou Biotech, Zero-G Research Firm and Expert Housing in exchange for the human resources and scientists needed are established and discussed at the 23313 AD CEP Board.

The first successful and almost self-sufficient dome was completed in Wirashoda II by the end of 23314 AD. Zainou Biotech scientists receive an incentive bonus from Hyasyoda Corporation for their outstanding performance and discoveries about the planet's atmosphere.
Thanks to the financial support from the Hyasyoda Corporation Chief Executive Panel, the corporation started working on a new orbital station. By 23320 AD the Wirashoda V - Hyasyoda Corporation Mining Outpost was established and became operational shortly after.

Tsukika Aniai's mesmerizing voice subtly conveys the solitude, alienation, and sense of fate that can only be experienced in the desolate and lonely sands of the Wirashora II desert. And deffintely her latest album, Sand's Patience is faithful to her musical tradition.



Sherem, Sherem (Love, Love) starts with a tender, brooding symphonic score, which mingles some tales of fate and passion with subtlety and restraint. The exotic, mesmerizing voice of Aniai's singing in an intentional raw Wirashodian accent engulfs the track as a low intensity sandstorm. The fourth track has a more popular tint, opening with a low drumming that briefly reminds the tech-step popular in today's dance clubs, If only to fade away in the horizon, all its traces becoming shapes on the dunes over which Aniai's voice flies and casts its exotic shadows.

Never building to its full potential in emotion and always far away from the melodramatic, Sand's Patience gives a brief glimpse of  human nature, our deepest desires and longings, and as soon as the melodies start to become material, they fade away to the barely audible, as slipping sand between our fingers.

Archery in the Orpana Constellation

Archery in the Orpana constellation has a long and famous history. Our folk legends tell how a mother wanting to instil the idea of unity into her sons sat them down before her and gave each an arrow telling them to snap it. Of course, they could do that easily. Then she gave each of them six arrows and told them to snap them all together. None of them could. This is how the Orpana colonists first learned about strength through unity.

Today, the sport has three main divisions based on regional styles of archery and different construction of the bow. My style is ‘Tsumine’ which is the tradition of the people of the northern Forge, and the most representative archers of this tradition can be found in Wirashoda. Another style is ‘Suitonen’ practised by the people of the center and eastern systems of The Forge. Finally, there is the ‘Uisen’ style which represents the southern Forge people.

We shoot different targets and distances. In the Suitonen style archers shoot at 35 meters, in the Tsumine at 45 meters and in the Uisen style at 75 meters. We are all united by The Forge Archers’ Union. Suitonen and Tsumine archery have many women competitors. Uisen archers are by tradition men. Each of our traditions has a special style of singing which is used by the scorer to indicate the score of each competitor. This helps us tell from a distance how our shooting is progressing.

Each of our different traditions has a different style of bow: but in fact, we can choose the type of bow we want to use freely. There are different sizes and draw-weights to suit men, women and children. The three styles of bow are ‘Imine’ – a deep form of bow based on the Raata style; ‘Senai’ and Kisonen. All these bows used to be made in the traditional fashion, using wood, sheep’s horn and sinew, although nowadays is really hard to find true handmade bows, and the original organic materials have been replaced by synthetic ones.

Landscape Diversity in The Forge Region Exhibit

The exhibit Landscape Diversity in The Forge Region, held in January 23341 AD in Matigu, New Caldari, was the ideal framework for exposition of artists from all over The Forge region. The main highlight of the exhibit are the works of New Caldari photographer Alima Edharen (23290 AD – 23339 AD) consisting in 175 vintage prints from public and private collections throughout the Caldari State, and draws on newly available material from the photographer's archive, which was acquired by the House of Records in 23335 AD.

Other 90 artists complete the exhibit, most of them representing each and every solar system in The Forge region: For Anttanen Constellation, 6 artists representing the following solar systems: Geras, Nomaa, Shihuken, Sirseshin, Tuurianinas and Unpas. For Aulari Constallation, 8 artists representing the following solar systems: Airaken, Inaya, Koriski, Nuken, Oijanen, Osmon, Uminas and Wuos. For Etsala Constellation, 7 artists representing the following solar systems: Hentogaira, Kianinti, Otanuomi, Otsela, Vasala, Vouskiaho and Walvalin. For Ihatalo Constellation, 6 artists representing the following solar systems: Akora, Ikami, Maila, Messoya, Purjola and Reisen. For Ihilakken Constalltion, 7 artists representing the following solar systems: Ansila, Eskunen, Hirtamon, Hykkota, Ikuchi, Ohmahailen and Outuni. For Kimotoro Constellation, 8 artists (2 of them for New Caldari), representing the following solar systems: Jita, Kisogo, Maurasi, New Caldari, Niyabainen, Perimeter and Urlen.For Mivora Constellation, 6 artists representing the following solar systems: Akkio, Fuskunen, Otosela, Paala, Tasti and Uemon. For Okkelen Constellation, 8 artists representing the following solar systems: Airmia, Friggi, Ihakana, Ishisomo, Otitoh, Otomainen, Sakkikainen and Vahunomi. For Okomon Constellation, 7 artists representing the following solar systems: Abagawa, Gekutami, Hampinen, Hurtoken, Jakanerva, Saisio and Uoyonen. For Onirvura Constellation, 6 artists representing the following solar systems: Josameto, Liekuri, Obanen, Olo, Otela and Poinen. For Orpana Constellation, 7 artists representing the following solar systems: Eruka, Mastakomon, Obe, Ohkunen, Osaa, Uchoshi and Wirashoda. For Otsabaira Constealltion, 7 artists representing the following solar systems: Akkilen, Keikaken, Onuse, Silen, Soshin, Ukkalen and Vattuolen. For Ruomo Constellation, 7 artists representing the following solar systems: Ahtulaima, Itamo, Jatate, Kylmabe, Mahtista, Mitsolen and Vaankalen.

April Knox's triptych faithfully depicts the ruthless and lonely sands of Wirashoda II, a small planet colonized in 23314 AD by the private efforts of Hyasyoda Corporation. Isolation, abandonment, fate, all emotions strengthened by the high contrast photographs of sand dunes and the exquisite ripples that the wind casts on them. The artist's skill was to capture all these feelings while staying close to the documentary photography tradition.




The exhibition was made possible by CEP Chief Executive Panel and House of Records joint efforts. Wirashoda also happens to be the location of the Guiding Hand Social Club's eponymous nightclub.  :yar:

You know, I realized that after being 6 months in game or so. Happy coincidence I guess choosing that particular solar system as my place of birth.  :D:
