Also best to keep in mind that Jove/SoCT relations have always been complicated. SoCT was often condemned by the Jove, one time in particular, for having completely derailed of its original purpose and having started to play illuminati with the Directorate. They also made a blunder with the book of emptiness, they were supposed to destroy (ordered by the Jove), but kept instead, and then lost. That is, ofc, OOC knowledge, much like HyCon and other internal fluff.

Kitzes however, since the SoCT has been opened to the public at least a little now, are something a character can perfectly be aware of, with a little knowledge on the matter.

The thing is, with the Society, that everything in that faction is build around mystery, ghosts, smoke and mirrors. They tell it in the novice epic arc : they are never seen and when they are sighted, they are like ghosts. It's thus fertile ground for speculation and conspiracy theories, so I find that quite reasonable to see a lot of people speculating on the bloodline of SoCT members.

Having gone through SoCT lore extensively over the past years, I can fairly say that there is absolutely NO PF AT ALL stating that there are still Jove in the SoCT, and absolutely NO PF AT ALL stating the contrary. Maybe hints that I may have missed, but nothing more.

People asserting that SoCT are only non Jove ICly are doing something called speculation to me. You can call them out on that ask them for their sources, or reasoning that makes them say so.

In my own personal RP, I take that with whole cubic metres of salt and always assume that maybe the Jove are still behind, but my character has never really seen them in her entire life. If they still exist in the SoCT, then they must be in the highest positions, remaining in the shadows. Anyway, she has never seen or heard about any of the SoCT leaders, so that's a moot point eventually.

Even Matshi Raish is only a spokesman and a respected scholar, nothing more. And it's the highest ranked character that I know of.
What happened to Veniel? He's the one Jove we know is explicitly in the Society, and has been active in the past 10 years (even acting as liaison to CONCORD and capsuleers).

We don't know.

Especially given the trend towards de-TonyG-ification going on in CCP, I don't give a lot of credence to anything coming from his books.

One thing about the Jove is that they're described as having different factions that have different attitudes towards extreme genetic manipulation. That's made me assume in the past that the Jove-appearing Jove are all from the more experimental factions, while the "non-Jove" in the various Jove corporations were Jove from more conservative factions. More recent text on the Jove imply that they all look "Jovian", so it seems like the non-Jove Jove are examples of the rare foreigner:

Quote
Jove society is mysterious and difficult to comprehend. For this and other reasons it remains very much closed to the other races, and few foreigners reside within the Jovian Empire.

Old PF though, may be obsolete.

Minor digression, but those writeups had old character generator portraits when they existed on CCP's site - I've been looking for those if anyone has em.

Veniel, modifier.

Can't find back the Statics one, only that piece of text... "Due to their elusive nature, nothing is known of the appearance of Statics."

ah yes, that last TEA chapter... with a battered and broken Jovian battleship coming OUT of the eve gate, chased by energy bolts....

always wondered about that.. seemed to be tacked on at the end, nothing to do with the story, but a not-so-vague hint that the gate isn't entirely dead.

as for the SoCT, i remember reading somewhere that it was an organisation 'founded by' the jove, but that at least the vast majority of it's personnel were not of jovian descent.

The SoCT was founded by Ior Labron, a jovian scientist and philosopher, and existed solely in the Third Jove Empire until just a few decades ago. So yes, it was founded by the Jove.

However, we definitely have no numbers or indications of ratios of students or staff being jovian or non-jovian.

Therein lies the problem... can't remember where i read it... if it comes to mind i'll arrange a link.

I think AURORA were mostly Jove.

Also most old CCP employees had Jove portraits.

they probably got rid of the Jove, because they don't want unmaintained art assets clogging up the client or something.

Except those art assets are still in the game. Five ships (2 frigates, 1 cruiser, 1 battleship, 1 industrial) and a station, with full textures and models. The only things that were removed were the Jovian character bodies from pre-Incursion, as to my knowledge... no Incarna style character bodies were ever made for the Jove. None have been seen at least.

Aye, there were Jovian characters generated in the Incarna engine as a final teaser for fan fest last year. Though, with work on the Incarna egine close to dead, it does not bode well for the Jovians. :|
