I found a great "homemade" video for a truely incredible song. Originally from the "Heavy Metal" soundtrack:

Blue Oyster Cult - Veteran of the Psychic Wars

Now I want to bone up on video editing and make an EVE version. :)

1. VNV Nation - Serial Killer (Advance and Follow v2)
2. Finntroll - Svartberg (Midnattens Widunder)
3. Dragonforce - Black Winter Night (Valley Of The Damned)
4. Depeche Mode - World In My Eyes (Mode To Joy) (Remixes 81-04)
5. The Rasmus - In The Shadows (Dead Letters)
6. Apocalyptica - En Vie feat. Manu (Amplified: A Decade of Reinventing the Cello)
7. Disturbed - Forgiven (Ten Thousand Fists)
8. Sirenia - A Shadow Of Your Own Self (At Sixes and Sevens)
9. New Politics - Yeah Yeah Yeah (New Politics)
10. System Of A Down - Violent Pornography (Mesmerize)

Diverse taste in music is diverse. My latest taste in music is D&B and Dubstep, but I tend to just listen that online. I need to clean up my playlist because some of this stuff I have really outgrown. There are other genres in my playlist which just totally don't show up in here, either.

1. "Whisper to a Scream" - Icicle Works
2. "Lisztomania" - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
3. "I Told You So" - Keith Urban
4. "That's Not My Name" - The Ting Tings
5. "Shut Up And Drive" - Rhianna
6. "Champagne Glass" - Alphastates
7. "Break It Down Again" - Tears for Fears
8. "Let it Whip" - Dazz Band
9. "Paper Walls" - Marc Cohn
10. "Bones" - Little Big Town

This actually isn't a terrible sample of what I listen to: though I'm baffled as to how the random shuffle managed to skip Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Def Leppard, Depeche Mode, Fleetwood Mac, Garbage, NIN, STP, Tangerine Dream and all of my GSMFLF ("God Save Me From Lilith Fair", to quote my DH) music.

1. Apocalyptica - Nothing Else Matters (Inquisition Symphony)
2. Infected Mushroom - Dracul (Classical Mushroom)
3. mind.in.a.box - Run For Your Life (Crossroads)
4. Beehoven Symphony 7; Movement 1
5. Tom Lehrer - The Vatican Rag (That Was The Year That Was)
6. Shostakovich Symphony 5; Movement 4
7. The National - Fake Empire (Boxer)
8. Steely Dan - The Royal Scam (Royal Scam)
9. Rammstein - Ich Will (Mutter)
10. VNV Nation - Entropy (Matter and Form)

Reasonably diverse and not a bad cross-section. Misses out a lot of artists, granted, but it's enough for an idea. Would be interesting to do this every six months or so and see how the collection changes with time, but I'm surprised it missed out all the Depeche Mode, Dvorak, REM, and so on.

4. The Resolution - Jack's Mannequin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UgGe50SbeI&ob=av2e
5. No way - The Naked and Famous http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYo6N7KyNcQ
6. Weapon of choice - Fatboy slim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMZwZiU0kKs
7. Evil things - Tenpenny Joke http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NspcFx-kPV0
8. The King and all of his men - Wolf Gang http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZLv36LvRo8
9. Miss Murder - AFI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YU4hhNKsPog
10. Howlin' for you - The Black Keys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7AP5MAhkoQ

This is from my youtube playlist, which is long. However it is quite different to the music I keep on my phone (which has a huge memory, so I use it instead of an ipod). Youtube tends to be the music other people show me, and I like, whereas the stuff on my phone is the stuff I've actually bought. This has missed out loads of stuff I normally listen to, but it actually a pretty good sample of the stuff I listen to the most, as well as the styles of music I like.

EDIT: Bring back threads from the dead :D

You can tell a lot about a person from what music they listen to, so let's do a little bit of a social experiment.

Open up your media player, whichever one you use. Set it to random. Hit next, not just once, but ten times. List the ten tracks. Just because I'm interested to see whether Ammarians listen to Metallica more than Gallenteans.

Lacuna Coil - I Like It.
Hillary Duff - Play With Fire
Deftones - My Own Summer
Madonna - Don't Tell Me
Jem - 24
Ciara (ft. Ludacris) - Ride
Massive Attack - Angel
Marilyn Manson - Sweet Tooth
Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around...Comes Around
Beyonce - Halo
