It is fact however that the amarr have been portrayed as a religious and xenophobic society since beta - if you want you can dig up on that or ask some of the PIE members who were around back then.
The amarr faction, like all the other factions as well, does not have a 100% fitting real life counter part, no matter how much people try to push it into the roman/byzanteene cliche.
It's important to remember that when making the infamous "educated guess" about things that do not have PF to back them up with.
Also, if you really must use (erraneous) descriptions like "church rule", then I'd like to remind you that especially if it IS a "church rule" there will NO room to wiggle in at all. What constitues orthodoxy is solely the descision of the theology council - and the speakers of truth.
It would be nice if those who look into amarr RP could take a step back and realise that, to put it like Lyn, "Amarr Empire = / = US Mid West christianity". It is much less inclusive ( you can only become a true believer with all rights of the cult, which equals society, by conforming to the cults norms and by lineage and continued service), it is even more xenophobic and radical in it's tennets ( an ongoing crusade in the name of the faith ) and it is also not secular in the slightest (there is no seperation between faith and government - the later empowers and constitutes the former).
