CCP, as far as I've ever heard, undertook Eve with the idea in mind of making one sci-fi setting to rule them all.
Have you been privy to all the initial planning meetings of original principals? Or you just believe the latest bullshit from current management? Was the whole WhiteWolf's vampire faggotry also plan of this "one sci-fi setting"?
"We'll have a one common universe, with hundreds of systems and thousands of planets, with realistic economy and massive space battles! And then, we'll make vampires!! Brilliant!!" Plus, last I heard the essential DUST gameplay items were mostly going to be microtransaction based (the way a customer pays instead of monthly)
Really? Oh, wow, really CCP outdid themselves. Considering the whole PS3 hacking fiasco, to base the whole revenue model on small credit card transactions... And to build an FPS, which typically designed to emphasize individual running and gunning skills, instead on "let's see who has most cash to buy himself a K/D ratio?"
The brilliance of original EVE concept was that everything,
everything was made by players in
one common universe. Suddenly, after eight years, we have microtransactions and instanced battles
on completely different gaming platform! This is not continuing the vision, it's 180° reversal of the original concept in order to make a quick buck and hope that players will not notice because they are too busy trying on pencil skirts.
