I hit the "Sorry, I can't manage to string these datapoints together into a coherent whole" point a while ago.

If I were redeveloping it I'd say something like:

  • pure metallic tritanium reacts explosively with oxygen, including in the percentages found in breathable air (ditch anything to do with temperature)
  • the tritanium alloys used in starship construction are basically stable.
