I'm not too happy with the changes to capital ship requirements.
The last thing this game needs is more of them flying around, imo.
Just because it's less training time (and it really is, the JDC req is less than most nullsec alliances require. Same with TWR.) doesn't mean the barrier to entry is lowered. The skillbooks are still going to cost a significant amount of ISK and it's still going to take two weeks to build one. GSF did a survey of the members recently to find out what was keeping pilots out of capitals, a significant number said the cost of capital skill books and cost of the ship.
Are some scrublords going to get in a carrier they have no business flying? Of course. Are they going to show up on killboards? Of course. As long as they keep the long build time, that's going to keep the idiots from losing them like hotcakes.
Although, it is a little odd that they require the jump skills for the carrier (which starts out with the longest jump range to begin with) but not the dread. JDC V is pretty much mandatory for dread pilots-and supers and titans as well.
The sad thing is that I am going to be training for a Thanatos before they make the changes. *sighs*
