That the Intaki Liberation Front's "rampant griffin" corp logo was adopted after the pro-Federation corp The Durandal Organization created a logo using motifs similar to the ILF's original logo?

What did I just read

A very tenuous foothold... for a more scientific mind to latch on to... and develop theories from. I sure hope some more scientific minds come along ;)

By the way, if anyone has any other ideas regarding the transformation of inaccessible books-only knowledge into publicly known IGS knowledge... do share.

How would New Eden find out about the Enheduanni, for example? Or The Other? There has to be a way to bleed this restricted knowledge to the community at large.

Morwen's Law:
1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

Enheduanni: Simple. Don't worry about them. Or, find a character with enough connections with the Fed, Republic or CONCORD to conceivably have had access to said "rumors".

The Other: Even simpler. Rumors get out. From the half-remembered descriptions of Jamyl's "symptoms", I was able to pin down exactly where the freakin' Jove implants that were implanted in her brain were located. Given the fact that the Sarum family played a heavy role in Vak'atioth, even easier to throw the potential source in there. Jamyl's Vitoc situation is even easier, but probably not what you're looking for.  :yar:

Not everything needs to be revealed. Put enough threads out there, put a few hooks on them, and see what people latch onto.

  • These things just seem to happen...

Annoyance: A character with 100% Legit and Complete knowledge of whatever is going on will still be unable to in any way alter it.

My ideal progression for a bleed-out of widespread, formerly unknown information would look something like this:

- Starts with rumours.
- Attracts some attention from people willing to investigate the rumours.
- Rumours turn out to be true; investigators reveal this to the capsuleer community.
- Fear spreads through capsuleer community, as they're rightly concerned about being used as canoes for data-ghosts to get around the universe.
- Capsuleers begin to petition the Empires, demanding to know the truth, and issuing multi-megaton ultimatums as only capsuleers can if the truth isn't revealed.

Essentially, the more people we get talking about this formerly secret stuff, the better. Get involved everyone :p

100% accurate in my view. Doesn't mean things can't be integrated into RP and have fun randomly happen.  ;)

Why not create player-run events along these lines? We've got all the pieces. CCP is doing their own thing with the meta-story, why not create smaller, more interactive and "fun" arcs on our own? Maybe invite CCP along for the ride if they're willing?

Seriously, if anyone's serious, let's pull the trigger on this guys. I'm already starting my own (very small) idea rolling, trolls and haters be damned (but I love all of you, seriously!).  ;)

BTW, I'm lighting a fire under CCP Goliath and CCP Affinity.

So, how do we get rumors started, aside from tabloid news reports (not saying anything wrong with it, just that most people would laugh it off as awesome storytelling and not pursue it any further)? What kind of rumors would get people interested in investigating "stuff"? Would anyone actually fear a half-imagined invasion of disembodied Jove infomorphs? Any ideas on how to get CCP on board with player-directed storylines becoming canon?

Finding conceivable ways to leak the knowledge from Eve's books, otherwise inaccessible to player characters, to the Eve community at large.

If I ever read an EVE book, I shall try my best to leak the information within it to the public at large.

I found an ancient nugget of Endless Corporation era fiction. The origin story for Endless Corporation. This was written in 2002. Read it, and be creeped out.

The way I see it, at least for Druur, is that the reason why she is oblivious to the greater backstory is that she consciously chose to ignore it. Becoming a pod pilot was her way to break free of the rather small-minded pettyness of her home worlds. ...or so she thought.

She's an idealist at heart; which led to a rather painful breakup when faction allegiances bled over into her hitherto clean capsuleer world.
