You have my condolences. :P

If you're going to be in that area, you could always go and poke around RPI, but I dunno if they have a summer session or whatnot, it might be totally empty.

1) The number of capsuleer women who are bisexual is greater than the number who are lesbian.
2) Most of the former group appear lesbian due to a lack of suitable male partners to go around.
3) The lack of suitable male partners can be summed up in most cases thusly: interested, worth the air they breathe, available; pick two.

Is Troy a crappy place? It can't be any duller than living in the old people retirement capital of the world, right? D:

My grandfather used to make a joke about it - if NYC is the armpit of America, New Orleans and Florida the genitals (female and male respectively), Troy was the sphincter.

That said, a lot of college cities up north are like that afaict. They're OK within a couple blocks of the universities, but you take your life into your hands going further away than that.

(Also, I'm totally not 3-4 hours' east of there near a city with lots of cool museums. Nope.)

If I walk down a street and see people my age (with all their teeth still in their heads), it'd be a step up from what I'm seeing now. :D

I hope they have pigeons there. I want to chase them.

Sad news :( Was going to joke about taking pictures so you can remeber the good/bad times better, but that's kind of pointless now. Hope to seee you again sooner rather than later, Izzy.

Hey Izzy, sorry about your trip, and hope you get internet back soon.  I'd suggest a library, even if it doesn't have internet, at least it has books, but that's me talking.

Drat, if this hadn't been canceled I could have chimed in...I used to live in that area. Troy was indeed dumpy, last I knew, but Albany is fine, particularly around downtown. I don't remember a *lot*, but the NYS Museum was cool, and there The Egg, which does both movies and live shows.  20 minutes away is Saratoga Springs which is a smaller city, though packed with tourists in the summer; there's a nice walkable downtown with decent shops and restaurants, there's the horse racetrack, there's lots of parks and small museums and there's SPAC, an ampetheatre that hosts balet and symphony groups in the summer, plus other concerts.
