We need to make something a little clearer from the
FAQ:
It is not a place for people to show how 'wrong' others are. It is not a place for the ventilation of personal vendettas. It is not a place for insults, either veiled or explicit. It is not a place for telling other people they are 'doing it wrong". It is not a place to carry on In Character feuds.
Now, apparently some folks don't quite understand this in context. The same document says a little further down, "Debate or discussion involves people putting forward their ideas and opinions. Argument is when people start fighting over whose ideas or opinions are 'right'."
This means we totally encourage people posting ideas. That means that sometimes somebody might say, "hey it would be awesome if [group|player] X did [idea|project|concept] Y".
We think this is awesome. And it doesn't remotely look like the sorts of things that we will moderate, such as: "IF YOU DON'T DO X YOU ARE A HORRIBLE PERSON WHO SMOTHERS BABIES WITH PILLOWS SMELLING OF CHICKEN LIVERS AND YOU DON'T EVEN USE FABRIC SOFTENER WHEN YOU DO IT!" Or, you know, passive-aggressive versions of that.
Some users have the idea that if they report a bunch of posts that don't even come close to violating any rule, guideline, or bit of common sense, we'll... I don't know. Perhaps they have the idea that we'll change our policies, maybe, or wreak vengeance upon their mortal enemies unto the 7th generation, so mote it be.
Either way, keep in mind that the whole guideline applies.
Moderation reports are not the place to carry on your vendettas, hoping we'll unleash the Wrath of the Silver Night and lay waste to those who blew up your Merlin last week.
