Sortet V - Moon 1 - Federal Navy Assembly Plant
Good evening.
On behalf of Repracor Industries [RPCIN] (https://gate.eveonline.com/Corporation/Repracor%20Industries) and The Synenose Accord [SYNE] (https://gate.eveonline.com/Corporation/The%20Synenose%20Accord), I am pleased to announce the details of the Fourth Seyllin Conference (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5216901#post5216901). The Fourth Seyllin Conference will be held on the surface of Seyllin III (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Seyllin) at a privately owned research station from 117.02.28 through 117.03.01.
DETAILS
- As has become tradition, the conference will be held on Seyllin III in the Thoulde constellation of the Essence region. The private research station offers full amenities for presenters and attendees alike. Docking services and accomodations are available nearby at Roden Shipyards Factory at Seyllin VI-3 and CreoDon Warehouse at Seyllin VIII-14. InterBus service will be available in and out of the system. The research station has upgraded its fluid router backbone, and we are happy to announce that the conference will support virtual attendees.
- The main event will be across two sessions. The first session will be on Saturday, 117.02.28, from 19:00 to 00:00 Standard Time. The second session will be on Sunday, 117.03.01, from 19:00 to 22:00 Standard Time.
- Preceeding the main conference sessions, there will be a four-day "Trades and Sciences Fair" from Tuesday, 117.02.24, through Friday, 117.02.27. This fair will essentially be an open house in the lobby are of the research station for anyone to set up a stall and/or exhibition.
- The main event days will have six and four conference slots, respectively, of 30 minutes each for selected speakers. We have allowed extra time in case of extensive questioning, and some time to socialise.
- The first and last 30 minutes of each session will be for introductory/keynote and endnote speeches.
- The purpose of the conference is to provide a place for the sharing and advancement of current and future scientific findings and research. As such, political agendas and grudges have no place here. Parties found to be counterproductive to this type of environment will be ejected from the conference.
SUBMISSIONS
We are looking forward to submissions from presenters both old and new. The process is as follows:
- Post on this announcement thread (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5485299#post5485299) and confirm you wish to submit a presentation. If you have posted previously in the original Fourth Seyllin Conference thread, please repost here.
- Mail a brief summary (including any special requirements or staffing) to Jennifer Starfall (https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/Jennifer%20Starfall), N'maro Makari (https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/N'maro%20Makari), and Morwen Lagann (https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/Morwen%20Lagann).
- One of us will mail back to confirm we have received your submission. If you receive no such response within 24 hours, please post here again.
- If you are confirmed and assigned a slot, you will receive another mail. Please do not disclose that you have received it.
- Submissions will be closed at 23:59 on 117.02.24. The final schedule will be published then.

Are you saying you are one, or that you wish one would be there?
Even if you don't think you have something worth being a presenter for, there is the T&S Fair beforehand. If your grenade is an actual thing, you're welcome to set up a booth and shill.

well Huogikku corp produces both cutting edge houseware tech..also we work o weapon design...so its not just the grenade, theres a Rail rifle design i actually been working on for fun....theres a silly side to huogikku corp along with the serious Deather dealer side..

My understanding is that the Fair is pretty open. The submissions process is only for the main presentation slots.

The trades fair is literally an open house and will be open leading up to, on, and I hope a little after the main event.
The venue itself I can promise you will be able to accomodate some fairly sizeable exhibits, but if in doubt shoot me a mail
Just keep it ages 13 and above and everything's cool :cube:

I'd be offering to help with this but my account is inactive atm. If there's anything I can do in terms of background writing or w/e to help with things, send me a pm here. Hopefully I will get my account back before the actual conference cause I'd really like to present if possible.

Yeah, this. The idea is that there'll be an exhibition floor for industrialists, inventors, traders, manufacturers and creative people in general to show off their products, recruit for corporations and open RP around the idea of applied science. We'll create the main hall channel, and you can do open RP there. If the main hall becomes busy you can set up your own 'stall' channels so you can continue to RP without it turning into a spamfest.
If you want to exhibit at the trade hall send me a message here or in Eve mail (Ollie Rundle) including the name of your stall/product/corp/etc and a really quick summary of what you intend to show off. Links to your corp site, product descriptions etc will also do.
Note that your 'product' doesn't need to be something actually marketable in game at present. It can be a prototype weapon or item, a treatment for some baseliner ailment, a new type of drone tech/interface, a software application or anything else with a minor 'flavour' impact on the game. It can be an on-site or virtual demo or it can be a simple advertisement for you and your services. Both Anslo and Foley have mentioned 'stuff' that would fit in nicely here and I know people like Katrina have done similar things in the past for their corps.
The goal, as already mentioned, is to display the application of science not just the theory - which is what the focus of the rest of the conference is and get some open floor RP happening while doing so.
At present, despite the official announcement, the duration of that trade fair might need to be scaled back to 24hrs before, during the conference and 12-24hrs after. Unfortunately my time zone and family/work commitments will keep my direct involvement limited.

Failing that, would you be up for writing up a couple of poster presentations/research abstracts for things the Paradox might have been doing that could be published to the IGS or fed to sites like Janice Ymladris' blog in the lead up to and during the conference? Press release kind of stuff?

So, on the o7 stream today, was announced.... a dev blog TOMORROW revealing info about the Drifters.

Hilen Tukoss's resurfacing 2 days before the conference, I could deal with. I just hope this dev blog doesn't render half the fucking conference irrelevant.

Everything went awesome. Thanks to everyone who helped, participated and showed up.
There was no Hilen appearance, but we did have ISD coverage. I don't envy them the task they have of writing an article about it; there's so much for them to comb through. Jandice is facing a similar task.
Each day ran about 4 hours (we ran an hour over each day). People hung around in the channels and continued to interact and RP after the official close of the day's events. We had 3 IC, 1 OOC, and 1 admin channel. We peaked at 40 and 41 people in the presentation channel. A sizeable percentage of those people actually traveled to the Seyllin system for the event.
It's worth noting that we did not have to kick anyone, and there was only one administrative muting that was required, and that was still more of an extension of an RP incident and was reversed a short time later.

Thanks a lot for the conference. It was great fun. Every single planet in EVE should have such a detailed and unique ambient description like the conference site. I would spend the rest of my life as an EVE tourist :D

ISD is hoping to get their article up this weekend. Among other things, I emphasized the lack of ban hammer needed for the event and asked that he pass that on to CCP.

I really liked the conference, and 10/10 would do again.
