In close relation to the Pendulum (http://backstage.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?topic=6311.0) storyline I would like to invite you all to another small peace of the story advancing on February 25th, 20:00 EVE Time (UTC+0). This is the OOC announcement and things will happen IC by surprise. So there won't be such a thing as an IC announcement in advance.
What will happen? - That's a secret of course! :D But there will be the opportunity to react quickly on behalf of I-RED, against it, or simply in favor for your own ends. Depending what your characters prefer.
What's suggested? - The story will lead you somewhere into dangerous space. It doesn't matter where you start though some remote places may give you a hard time participating (Caldari space is completely fine). So getting there is part of the event. I suggest that you log in a little bit earlier and maybe team up with comrades or start casual roleplay at your liking. Forming fleets may be a good thing at some point.
What are the parameters? - Not many. The duration of the event is hard to calculate in advance but I would say three hours maximum. If you give me a brief line here with your complete character name I'll contact you via EVE Mail when the event begins. I'll also post a thread simultaniously in the Backstage fiction forum.
Who's involved? - You and everyone you drag along, as well as everyone else who has the same idea... Katrina Oniseki and Korsavius are involved for I-RED story background in the preparations. I will organize the thing and participate with my character Haria in a limited role. Should need arise, I'll be available as gamemaster/narrator.
Leave questions or declarations of intent below :)
Edit: See here (http://backstage.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?topic=6494.0) for ingame starting shot.

Unfortunately, I will be traveling/vacation. But if an appropriate hook can be sent to Luna, she will send to SFRIM members as she always does. Usually a few bite :)
-
I would like to confirm that this is completely legitimate and backed by us. Please note this is a major "CHOOSE YOUR OWN ENDING" event. The results will determine how the story moves forward. See you all there!
-
I look forward to the event, as it should be fun and interesting for all who participate! A big thanks to Haria for stepping up, and becoming more involved in the Pendulum arc. It is always cool when other roleplayers approach us asking what they could do to contribute to the story. :)
-
The 25th at 20:00? Hey, an event I can actually make!
-
Sure, it looks interesting. Will try to attend.
Maybe too much info given OOCly, but I guess you have your reasons. I don't like when it feels to artificial. :)
-
A little reminder and confirmation. The event will happen in two days, as announced above.
-
Oooh I think I can actually make this one. Weekdays rock for events.
-
I think I can do this one ;)

Did thing, was fun :D Kor accidentally paying a Cartel funded pilot made me laugh
-
>_>
<_<
I swear I didn't know...
-
Sorry I missed it! I did spread the word as best as I could :)
I hope there's a news article or post about it!
-
Thanks for the participation. I hope you enjoyed it. I learned a few things about doing events in EVE.^^ Tougher hiding places and a little bit more thoughts on security codes, for example ;)
-
The hiding place was fine, I just have 4 years of experience with d-scan and access to a fast ship xD
-
Yeah, the hiding spot was good - not near any of the major celestials (gates, stations, etc) but not so far out in deadspace it took us hours to putter out and find it.
Now, the whole thing being way out in Syndicate was annoying, but ah, well - that's where I-RED lived, I guess.
-
Distance was definitely my main motivation for using Esil as a proxy. Getting Kala across 30 jumps of highsec is really uncomfortable.
-
I did 30j through Solitude, was pretty quick, but I was using a covops though...
Made me tinker with the new scan system. I was like "ooohh" and "aaah" and forgot at times there was an event running... :P
-
Wish I could have been there. :(
-
Welp. Anslo's pissed.
-
Why ?
-
Why ?
I-RED refused to submit to Anslol's request to get the refugee/witness character a lawyer.
-
And Anslo responded by murdering people? No such thing as overkill I guess :s
-
I'd like to remind everybody that this is all roleplaying, and we strongly encourage characters and players like Anslo to get involved on the angry side of the coin. There's plenty of room for people to get upset at and attack I-RED over some very possible offenses we may or may not have made. This is why everything is written so ambiguously, so that Anslo has a justification to make such demands and play his role without being objectively "wrong".
OOCly, it's all just roleplay though!
-
My throat hurts Kat. Help me :(
-
I just read the IGS and I understand better now.
-
Things are gaining momentum. I wonder, I wonder... But Anslo gives me the creeps! I should put him on watchlist :D

I'd like to reiterate these points. :)
As an aside, I have found it particularly interesting that PY-RE has sort of vaguely come to I-RED's defense. Honestly I was expecting them to be harassing I-RED about the recent happenings. It is really all quite fascinating. I sort of view it akin to how the megas interact. They like to poke and harass each other but when it comes to certain issues, they stand together as one. Very, very interesting. :)
Furthermore, I-RED has stood largely unopposed throughout this storyline, until only recently. It is nice to know we are not hated enough for people to really try going against us. :cube:
At the same time, moar conflikt is guuud

Well, Anslo is not the only one to be pissed now.

On Kala's end of things, she has at least relatively fond memories of her time in I-RED. Plus, she has a pretty serious dislike of the people who seem to be doing most of the aggression
-
My throat hurts Kat. Help me :(
Why?
Cause dumb office ppl came in sick and made me sick toooooooo
edit: Soooo yeah, get push back, and just hand wave a buncha timely Evacs?...really?.....just wow.
-
I think Leela's statement could have been phrased better, but in the end, I see no problems with it. If we are to go on the assumption that POCOs have baseliner crews operating them, which makes sense I suppose, then it seems logical that they'd be able to easily evacuate once a POCO enters reinforced mode...since, y'know, they're invulnerable.
-
A structure. Sure. But every single structure you all have in Syndi right now? Really? So I drop in and suddenly the targets are magically empty?
Whatever. GLHF. Out.
-
You do know we have only left a skeleton of our infrastructure in Syndicate. POCO's have been under attack and lost over the past 4 months, measures no doubt would have been taken to retain personnel.
That said there are still skeleton crews plugging away so we can make every isk we can before they are destroyed.
Edit: Also cases like AK may still be abound. Who knows, but really getting miffed OOCly over it isn't necessary.
-
Not miffed at all. Good luck with your arc.

I-RED doesn't have infrastructure aside from POCOs that you can assault...unless you want to try assaulting the administrative offices we rent out from the Ishukone stations in Syndicate, but I don't think that would go too well for you. I-RED might have some hidden facilities on remote planets, but those facilities are just that...hidden.
Now taking hostages from the Ishukone corporation transports and whatnot that operate in the region wouldn't be implausible.
Anyway, thanks for the well wishes. I fully plan to end the arc well.
-
As a side note, it's standard RP procedure to evacuate personnel from targeted structures, especially if they have a reinforcement timer we can take advantage of. I had no idea you were attacking POCOs because you didn't actually say that, otherwise I'd have ordered an evac last night and relayed that info to you when it first began.
I don't know how Leela knew what you were doing and I didn't, maybe I just missed a killmail or something.
I'm sorry you had to find out through an IGS post, because honestly I'd have told you immediately if I knew about it so Anslo would be able to react in real-time.
-
The point was to not know. Anslo acts first and talks later. Not vice versa. Either way. Meh.
-
Well, what's done is done then I suppose. The story shall go on!
-
The POCOs are registered to I-RAT, Kat. Not RDC.
-
The POCOs are registered to I-RAT, Kat. Not RDC.
That would explain it.
-
Hey folks, apologies for my absence, but crisis at work! So that goes first.
Shame tho, I had actually a fully prepared response in case of the lawyers death (I expected him to die tbh) But as too much time has passed, it would feel awkward / out of place now. So IC'ly, what happens now is that Aurora Arcology sends out an investigation team to the site of attack & possibly try to get some wreckage to verify Gurista involvement and a conclusion on the destruction of the I-RED transport.

Not trying to dogpile on you Anslo, but based on IGS posts, I-REDs move out of syndicate, and how this Jordan Kaine thing started, I had pretty much assumed from the start you meant to bash more POCOs.
-
Well when you post saying they're evacuating ALL POCOS on a whim, it makes it pretty pointless. I knew IRED left Syndi. But given the incident occurred in Syndi, and me thinking Ishu had a lore based tie to Syndi, I thought killing assets there would matter. And in one post it was all made irrelevant.
-
Maybe they want you to believe it is irrelevant but it actually hurts them to see their employees being shred to pieces ? :D

The opposite of love is not hate but indifference?

Common enemy.
