So I was reading the ZAM interview with CCP Seagull ( http://www.zam.com/story.html?story=32464 ) and at the bottom among the images I saw this:
Now if I'm not mistaken, isn't that the same ship as the fabled "Khanid Titan" that had one image years ago. Y'know, this one:
Soooo.... do we get a new range of Supercaps in game? Are these purely NPC/Actor ships because they hate flying that Mushroom?
Wild speculation, go!
-
Bro, I'm very sorry to disappoint you, but that's just a normal Leviathan.
-
No those were just concept designs long ago made on a whim for a chronicle. I have always treated them, from a lore point of view, as being different exclusive models, first renditions etc, for the empires. The only ones that ever existed in game were the old Minmatar 'Leviathan' and the Gallente 'Soltueur' models anyway.
Still they do look pretty similar... Caldari relations with the Khanids and Amarr in general having some influence in their design maybe? ;)
-
Cael, you forgot to put on your glasses today didn't you? :P
-
The titan stolen by Khanid was supposed to be one of the old big ones.
Also, the ship on the foreground is a Tormentor, so unless the ship on the background is very, very far it is quite unlikely that it is a titan. Perhaps a battleship, at most.
-
...That's a Leviathan in the first pic.
-
Yeah, that's a Leviathan.
The old image depicts the old Imud Ibrau, before CCP decided to change it to his final version, the Avatar.
-
Get your shit together, Tyrone.
-
Oh for .. ugh the lighting makes it look gold.
Leviathans look like giant grey spacebricks 99% of the time :bash:
But well, it's not an Avatar tho, and I still want the Khanid ship back =(
-
Oh also,
Hello, i'm fugly. (http://izlin.free.fr/eve/ships/soltueur.jpg)
Omg me too ! (http://izlin.free.fr/eve/ships/leviathan_old.jpg)
Now that I read the old descriptions, it's quite funny, it says that the Caldari titan is smaller than the other ones and fields short ranged weapons to be able to better operate alone without an escort.
-
The Titan that Khanid hijacked was one of two Imud Habrau, the so called actual 'Titan'. The Leviathan/Ragnarok/Erebus/Avatar are second generation baby titans, called Prometheans.

I doubt very much we will see a proper Titan released to the player base, as it is simply too damn powerful to be thrown around.
-
Would love them to be used by CCP actors at least. Same way the Soltieur (I probably misspelt that I know) was years ago.
Also you SURE that's a Leviathan? It looks way too pretty, and goldenish...

THAT'S a Leviathan?...Not..a Minmatar prototype?..I...whaaa?

Khanid II does not fuck about.
He sees your puny modern Titans and laughs.

Is it big to the point that half of the top part of the Imud up there is the entire length of a Leviathan?...if so then..I...uh....

No, the 'Leviathan' in that image is a Minmatar titan. Kind of a 1st gen issue. It is not an early version of the Caldari Leviathan.
-
The leviathan in the first pic looks gold because of the lighting.
-
I imagine, as well, the V3 textures recently implemented have something to do with how it looks.
-
WTB gold Levi.

SAW IT FUCKING COMING
-
That 'Leviathan' is the first Minmatar Titan, which is purposely fugly because it was supposed to be a roaming Thukker junk-hive colony.
To think, at one time Titans were going to have lore-based origins.
-
Chaps...
Stop being such pessimists.
There's a reason CCP hasn't retconned the terms "Soltueur" and "Imud Hubrau" from lore. Did you honestly think the Titans we have now, are the absolute apex of what we can fly in Eve?
You'll all get to see the sun killer in action someday. The Gallente titan's superweapon is a miniature singularity. You're seriously telling me you've never wondered what would happen if they released a version that could target the cores of stars?
I didn't name it Soltueur out of pithy frenchy arrogance.

Considering what happens if you warp to the center of a star, probably something hilarious.
-
Well, what happens when you deploy a singularity in the core of a star IS pretty hilarious to me... not sure it will be for the rest of you though. You seem pretty attached to your empires.
:)
Then again, you're just the triggermen... your job is to fire the weapon, not to understand what the weapon actually does.
