As I said in OOC yesterday, this is entirely un-scripted and up to you all IC how it plays out.
I initially wanted to have all 600,000 floating in space but giant containers don't have anywhere near the volume.
Throwing them all in a POS tower also means the containers can't be possibly shot by interlopers either :(
I'm going to probably settle with anchoring as many filled containers as I can on field and having a bit of an obstacle course, but will just contract the remaining slaves to the 'winner' if we have one.
Any cheating, scheming, collusion, etc please handle IC and is entirely up to the participants. The less I know the better, and more fun for you all !

2 Questions:
1, when you say "One pilot per organization", does that refer to corp/alliance or faction?
2, is there an exact time/date for this?
-
I would say one per alliance, not faction.
So one TSF member, one PIE member, what-have-you.
If we are that short of pilots we'll bump it up?
-
Missed question two.
I'm aiming for probably noonish for USA people and 7 or 8 pm for EU players. Something in that range to hit the widest swath
-
Lolsome. :D
If only I was still playing... Already have a lot of ideas.
And just so we're clear any particularly egregious violations of my terms that I dislike will likely result in the entire stock being liquidated.
Duh, don't give them such ideas... /o\
There are people out there that would like nothing more than seeing the whole lot liquidated.
-
We'll just have to play it by ear! Any liquidation would be entirely from IC perspective, so I imagine depends who'se doing what when to whome. Complicated webs we weave.
When I tell participants the location I'll also give location for a nearby station, will be within a few jumps for people to stash ships, etc.
-
So you can reship endlessly ?
-
So you can reship endlessly ?
Curious about this as well.
-
Reshipping would be against the IC rules, and I'll post to that effect.
Having a station nearby might make your travel a bit easier if you are scooting through lowsec on the way. I'm picking a location that won't be difficult to get to and should be essentially empty. It will be very close to highsec so no one who is an Empire player will have to run a difficult gauntlet to participate.
However I imagine some of you sneaky types wouldn't mind stashing an extra ship nearby should any shenanigans ensue.

Ban faction cruisers, please. Those are 'technically' tech 1, ala Faction War. Unless Cynabals against Everyone is the order of the day? :D

Excellent suggestion. 'Navy' versions however are not terribly overpowered and will be permitted.
-
As these fights develop organically, I'm hoping for perhaps some scheming to handle particularly hard to catch and elusive targets. Enemy of my enemy temporary alliances, etc. Keep that private and IC of course.
Go nuts.
-
Doubt I'll be online for this, sucks

When I was still playing a navy caracal was more or less able to play on the same terms than a cerberus, or a nomen like a zealot, or even better, at close range. T1 standard cruisers are no match for those as well, even if pirate variants are even more powerful.
-
Dead when are you available? If we can swing it we'd love to have you. The problem is I have to make it reasonably timed for both US and EU

I'm alright with it. Navy ships will have a giant bullseye on their foreheads and cooperation to kill them immediately might be a good tactic to employ.
-
Deadrow i will check availability of everyone who commits and if they are alright I can likely move it to 00:00?
Let me know if that is your earliest
-
That is about the time I get home from work on weekends (sundays I'm a bit earlier).
I know it might be asking too much, but if I could get the location a day before so I could move a ship a couple jumps from staging point that would be good too <3
Either way hope people come!
-
Honestly, I'd think that anyone not flying a Navy Cruiser would be gimping themselves. They really are awesome when properly fitted.
ANYWAYS, I love this idea, Silas. :)
-
Also think about it this way, its more than 500m in slaves up for grabs, so that should more than cover any well-fit navy ship.
-
epicness. Well done Silas.
-
Good stuff.
-
I've been getting a lot of 'this sounds cool!' but not getting a lot of evemails of actual intent to participate. Gonna be a real boring cruiser melee with like two people :P
-
Are people allowed to warp out ?
-
Definitely not. Think of it like a cage match.
-
I'm sure there'll be no shortage of unannounced/uninvited attendees. :)

I'm sure there'll be no shortage of unannounced/uninvited attendees. :)
The problem with this event and the above-mentioned idea is the fact that only a small part of the slaves will be available in the cans. Even if they are hacked, you only get so-and-so many. So signing up for the fight, then letting your gang in on the location to secure them only get you so far.
On the other hand securing all of them demands that you destroy all the opposing ships, many of whom might be your allies or friends. And that for the amusement of a person you might not like IC, too. Silas get's her entertainment, you get your shame and blue-on-blue shit-fest, and your not guaranteed to get the slaves even then.
Unless ofc loads of them secretly work together for one unified goal in mind regarding the slaves and then have all but one warp out and forfeit their part in the fight, granting the victory to a chosen member of this secret alliance. That could be done, but there are no telling how many attenders will be there solo as requested, how many are really working together, or how many alliances will show up on the field.
In the end, the only guarantee is that Silas will be seriously amused and might not even have to hand the slaves over. More blooding victims \o/

Like I said I'm not doing any scheming on this. I would of course prefer people play by the rules, show up, and fight, but IC is IC.
-
Saturday 23:00 EVE for pew pew glory
-
Being unable to come to this (for obvious reasons), I would be highly grateful for any wielders of the fraps.
-
You can totally come. I'm serious when I'm saying no OOC collusion to support any contestants over any other. If there's IC scheming going on I don't know a thing about it. The odds are pretty good one of you will get all 500m isk for not too much risk.
-
Great event!
Things went relatively smooth, and looked like some good fighting.
There was it appeared some ganging up on some of the 'bad' folks so I'm going to try and rework rules for our next event.
Will likely be 2v2 ladder style matches, with entry fees generating the prize pool for combatants.
Highlights for me:
Watching Scherezad running around and blapping people in her Moa
Graelyn's IC cries of frustration when his guns exploded. Not his fault as he hit some lag it looked like; he was doing very very well up until then.
-
Yes, some of us 'good guys' (relatively) did team up, but it all came together within minutes of the start. "We have to save these people!" "If we just kill the others and leave, Silas will kill them all! Make it look good!" I broke the PIE order not to participate for this reason...
However, yes, my guns burned out minutes after I turned off the overheat. Very Fucking Frustrating.
Great event, all in all.
-
I Think cruiser hulls gave it enough HP that people weren't insta popping and had some time to move about and plan, etc.
Worried if we bump up to BC hulls there will be too much dps on field and it'll be over even faster...
-
Wow, sounds like you guys had good fun. :D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3G7FH5sqhA)
-
It was a pretty wicked event, though my high DPS Thorax was pretty quickly primaried. I was totally expecting everyone to use kitey shield fits, so I cursed when I saw a bunch of brick Amarr hulls.
But I am a "good guy", I swear! :yar:
