... asking them to check the EVEmail backlog of NPC character Haukkakka Pukara?
It might possibly help avert a partial meltdown in the Matari sector. Even if there was no reply, we'd at least know that a non-answer was intentional.

Sent Dropbear a note.
-
Thank you.
-
What do you mean by meltdown ?
-
Oh gawd, that name is hilarious.
Haukka = hawk, Kakka = poop.
Not even touching Pukara, but it can be easily twisted to a finnish word as well :P
-
the interbus CEO ?

Due to my astute guesswork and absolutely no knowledge of the situation, I assume that they want to know if shooting the Interbus Planetary hanger thingies ( I've never done PI, can't remember their names :P ) counts as piracy.

It's not like we can unanchor or "take ownership" of them...so, we're stuck shooting them and replacing them with ones we build, for now at least.

I'm just curious why this wasn't phrased in more precise terms? Because star fraction has been blowing up these things for the past week.
If an act of piracy, well.

Yeah, we had to dispose of ours, but then again, CONCORD doesn't give a micrometeroid about what happens out here in w-space.

If you wish to term it an act of piracy then I invite you to debate the issue on the IGS Soter.
Hopefully one more meeting of the free captains will firm our our stance on taxation/ROE interaction and we'll announce our policies on customs offices in general. Specifics to come - but we are going to be considering excessive (numbers to come) and exclusive (barred on standings) administration of planetary customs offices cause for political -10 setting.
For the record our replacement orbital facilities are running on zero tax (was .01 for a few days due to bugs) for Friendlies and Neutrals and 5% tarrif for Enemies. We note that your corp mates have been making use of them Soter :)
But its entirely possible the council of free captains will vote for near minimal tariffs for -10s also. (something in the .01% -> 5% range) - its useful as an intel tool to see where -10s do their business certainly, but ideologically Jericho certainly leans towards lowest tax possible.
Still, you have an RP assault to try with the accusation of Piracy against Interbus Soter and it'll give a forum for discussion of the Star Fraction's approach to taxation/ROE so be my guest please.

Has anyone shot at these things in High-sec, or does Concord Frown upon such things, which would be kinda odd.
I could understand if shooting a faction custom station would gain you the hatered of said faction. Also, if you really think about it, everyone commits some form of piracy in Eve. Could it not be seen as piracy to mine an astroid, since you didn't ask the entity controlling the space if it was alright to mine and sell materials within their area.
-
As far as I can remember, hisec customs officers are property of CONCORD. Which means that shooting at them gets you a GCC & concordokken.

To be honest, we expected to take a standings loss to Interbus when we removed the offices. But we'd already discussed internally that the interbus tax rate was something we considered regressively protectionist and provided appropriate casus beli.

Interbus charging taxes on planets owned by the empires is piracy. It's your civic duty to blow them up.
Do you guys really think Drop bears answer is going to be the one that prevents role players from using a new feature?
-
Please keep your responses on topic, Jade. Was trying to ask the OP why they couldn't have simply asked about the interbus piracy issue directly, instead of keeping it nebulous. Games of telephone through twitter are hard enough as it is; simply asking for a question to be relayed directly has a much greater chance for success.
We did ask directly: to the NPC responsible. If that mailbox gets lots of spam it's "the message a week ago from an EM diplomat".
We know the game mechanics. We don't agree on whether or what those signify. I rather doubt a generic GM could help an immersionist roleplay alliance there. (But do enlighten me if I'm mistaken.)

Maybe the empires are taking a decent amount of these taxes out of what Interbus gain initially. Who knows.
