Wow...
-
*sigh*
so much for serpentis plothooks
still rather interesting though. Folks are rather desperate from the sounds of it.

Everyone seemed to intentionally overlook Arvo's conclusion that interlinked all the past news articles in Seri's hanging thread. That it has always been about fear, and self-destruction in the face of an entity nobody wishes to take the time to understand. So much blind fear, that anyone even remotely suspected of being Sansha, is silenced or put to death... even people aren't even loyalists, or even sympathizers.
Why was Arvo ignored? Probably because he's Sansha. I accept that, as it comes with the job description. ;)
Seriphyn and Julianius are both playing their roles the way they should: Federation loyal capsuleers wishing to rule democracy via fear tactics... which so mirrors recent events in America. But that's the thing with EVE: there will always be angles to every faction in which they believe they are playing the 'good guys' in a very morally gray universe.
I just wonder in light of the news article, if more people and capsuleers will get a wake up call, in realizing to trust their own judgement than to rely blindly on another's... the whole irony of this arc.

Bleh, and there I hoped it was going somewhere. :(
-
It is going somewhere, just not necessarily where you would have liked. :)
-
I still dunno what kinda logic they could use for a Serpentis plothook. Nanites, I mean, really. That hope was over with the second or third news item. :p
Well, interesting turn of events. Definitely bizarre, though, why a single Gererique mining colony, in the middle of nowhere. . .
Hmm. Might add more here later.
-
Thank god. If the Serps were working for the Sanshas, I'd have to force one of those pills into Senn's mouth. T.T
This does paint a pretty picture about how people view capsuleers, which is a topic thats been on the forum lately in the "celebrity" thread, for example. They're as afraid of the eggers as the Sansha.
-
Exactly.
As it should be. 8)
-
Just think it's grimdark. Folks commiting mass suicide when Sansha attack....
-
I can understand how, when faced with Sansha-style slavery, some folks might choose to go quietly into that good night instead.
It might or might not be what the RL me would choose, but I can understand it.
-
I had a thought on this topic, and I realized something.
Devs behind this plotbunny trail don't disappoint me now, because - ho ho ho, sneaky.
Also, still holding out for Serpentis hook in but hey~
-
But there wasn't any concern about a looming attack, was there?
How many people suicided in this incident, anyway? I think lots but forget the exact figure.
Everyone is focused on the pills and nanites, but the motivation is where we should look. A mass suicide, just because the universe is unfriendly? Unlikely, or we'd have rampant mass suicides already...
-
Some person may have blurted "the sansha are coming!" in a "boy who cried wolf" type scenario.
So... it's witch-hunt time! Find the boy who cried sansha-wolf!!!

Sansha attacks happen all the time according to missions and that, could easily be one of those mining colonies you see in mission sites

Now nobody will never not believe him again

Ghost will come and make them all into toasters and put them on sale in wal-mart for $9.95. /o\

I wouldn't be surprised if the Serpentis were still behind it. After all they are on the opposite side of the table from Sansha. Perhaps they're trying to deny resources to their rivals?

where are you finding toasters for that cheap?
-
When every Sansha implant is custom designed to the recipient, its insulting to compare it to Wal-Mart... or probably its EVE equivilant, Rapid Assembly. :P
We're Noble Appliances. A higher standard of living for all.
But yes... is anyone going to have their character have a wakeup experiance from this news article, or (the easy way) just dismiss it entirely as Nation's fault? I do have some inspiration from this all, however...
-
Nikita doesn't really care either way, OOCly, I'm hoping for something cool to come out of it.
