Title: 2.0 is Live!
Post by: Misan on 01 May 2011, 00:52
Upgrade complete! Right now it's a vanilla setup of SMF 2.0. I'll be working to get some new themes and possibly add-on packages setup in the next couple of days.

Use this thread to report any issues or point me to stuff that might be cool to add (like a good theme).

Edit: For now I've added a new theme, Back n Black which is close-ish to our previous setup. It looks workable for now. There are a couple other themes that work, although I feel that the BacknBlack theme might become the default for new users to the board.

Found teh butan... think it worked. I'll report bugs.

I've added a bunch of test themes, they should all work. Though they may have some weird problems with avatar image locations relative to the news ticker.

Three forum sections seems to have integrated into the topmost one.

The Guides & Mechanics one.
Character Development.
Corporation & Alliance Development.

It just looks like that due to the way that the nesting of sub-forums was done on the old theme vs. the new one(s).

Updated most of the mods that still work with 2.0. Should have spoiler tags, drafts (most likely to be buggy), links, staff page, and some admin stuff installed now. Main one I'm missing and haven't found a good replacement for is the page management mod which allowed us to have the FAQ & Rules links. It's 4 am here though so I need to get some sleep.

maybe now we can actually get the top banner prettified so its not a kinda bland looking picture of some pre-Trinity spacedomes.

I leave the artsy stuff to other individuals. ;)

I did however add  :psyccp: to our smiley repertoire.

I can volunteer to do artsy stuff free of charge, help beautify the forum, if we can get a consensus on what is wanted.

Bug report, as noticed by Cia - Rules/FAQ don't have top-row buttons/links like they used to. Needs fixing!

Yup, known issue. The mod that did that isn't supported in 2.0 so I've been trying to find a suitable alternative.

If it's possible, I'd love a mod that automatically detects mobile browsers and adjusts accordingly. Not the uber-simple WAP/WAP2 stuff, but things like smartphones and tablets (e.g. Webkit browsers).

I'm obviously willing to help in any way necessary.

There is probably one listed on the SMF Mod Site (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/) somewhere. ;)

Package installation tends to be clean so long as you're dealing with the same version (RC5 in our case).

Current Theme: Back n Black

The 'Did you Know?' stuff is a bit too small when it comes to font sizes.

I'll have a look at it when I have some time to poke around the code. Not changable via the standard admin interface. Been pretty busy this past week.
