That's Battle Angel Alita I believe.

Manga/Anime series. Also inspiration/mascot for very old EVE corp, Battle Angels, now known as OUTBREAK.

...this man to be correct. I'd not call it an anime/manga series however, only a Manga. The 'anime' was two poor OVA's that frankly were not to terribly true to the story, barely managing a resemblance of what happened.

I've been a fan of BAA since long before I even knew what the manga WAS or what the protagonist's name was, and I'm loving it. I decided to forgo my chibi avatar of BB this round, in favor of one of my older avatar's from another forum.

What I look forward to is the next volume, btw, NOT James Cameron's video-adaptation of BAA. It will floop horribly and become shit.

Or perhaps it will be like LOTR and become rather nice. Who knows. I don't hold much faith in this option, truth be told.

As for OUTBREAK, I don't know what pisses me off the most. That I was not around when Battle Angels were alive so I could try to join, or that they disbanded the corp and practically hugged the name for all time. Fuckfaces. Ofc, their status as un-curable elitist pricks don't help.

You.

Yes. Me.

@ Vieve; a tasty beverage won't help you. I don't drink achohole on principle. Try something else! :)

Although Irish is certainly an option, it's usually coffee or tea here.  :cup:

Ooooh, coffe. Shame I don't drink it, my tongue is a very spoiled thing; coffe's no good.

Bit of a shame, it could be most helpful to me. Tea however, is okay, some of it. Most is too bitter however.

BTW, a bit off-topic, wth is with the forum's tendency to bounce your screen up when you type a post? It's horribly irritating and messes with my post-making, marking text is next to impossible the further down you go...

BAA is teh shit, yo.  Biiiig inspiration for all things cyberpunk and izzehdoodles.

High five. o/\o

Edit: If I'm not mistaken, those pix are from the Last Order, amirite?

@Izzy-chan

Yeah, they are. Sig is GUNNM - Last Order volume 2 page 149.
Avatar is GUNNM - Last Order volume 12 page 188.

BAA is indeed a huge inspiration on cyberpunk. I have a triangled love relationship with BAA, EVE and a few songs mostly thanks to two old EVE videos. While they are not especially good, they did draw me deeper into EVE with the mood they set and was my basis for finding BAA. Playing EVE ofthen get's my cyberpunk love up, reading BAA sometimes get's me EVE joy up, and listening in on the songs will do both.

Ghost in the shell was nice too, but a tad off my tastes, though that's mostly thank's to the style of the maker.

, man you are not gallente if you do not administer overly dangerous ammounts of alcohol to your body. At least try the distilled cactus firewater from Mannar, you won't regret it.

Ahoy there sailor.

Your lack of alcohol always disturbed me.

Then again, I've usually got a tasty beverage in hand.

I'm glad to hear that Zag. I'm glad to know there were some semblance of fear in you.

And all I had to do was abstain from drinking intoxicating liquids.  ;)

Out of all the people I miss flying/chatting with, I think you will be among the ones I miss the most.

Neither of us are quitting, however my char's dead and Zag's char recently joined his kin in the afterlife too, thus neither will ever talk to one another IC ever again. Course' once I find out who Zag's new char is, there is always the chance his new toon and one of my chars might interact. However, that won't be the same as Alex and Gassanier chatting in STRIX corp-chat, or raiding together or anything like that.

Well if you like coffee perhaps I can still offer cream or sugar?

Uhm, I don't like coffee. And I think that's a shame because, coffee might help me, at least more than caffeine drinks do, I'm practically immune to those now.

Technically, the man who used Mjalnar Gessanier as legend and cover remains very much alive and active in the Caldari State in his original skin.

Although yes, the Zag identity did appear to suffer from the ill effects of terminal brain ventilation.

Curse those SDII punks and their damn dog too. It was all going to plan.

I miss read in the tiredness of a hard day; my apologies, just wanted to sneak my traditional Backstage greeting in to you.  I normally offer tea unless Cas beats me to it.

The more Intaki the better - we are a rare breed of awesome.

A note on tea: It is only bitter if you keep the tea leaves too long in the pot or cup. Some types of tea need to be kept in the water only for tens of seconds or so. Some are even rather sweet - though if you're used to having tea that is the same colour as coffee, likelyhood is that you won't be able to taste white teas etc. (Strong darjeeling might do, but it gets bitter very fast if you forget the tea into the cup etc.)

Also forgotten "hi".

You know more about tea then I do.  I just like your plain tradional british morning tea with milk and 2 sugars... yes I know... an adult that still does sugar.  Tease me later.

Hi - hopefully by now you've looked around enough you'll stick around.

Heh, thanks Zuzanna. I was planning on making this a replacer for the OOC forums, so I do plan to stick around.

Thanks for the greeting anyway, I was planning on doing that earlier but I forgot.
