Established 12.04YC113 under articles of incorporation compliant with the terms of the Secure Commerce Commission (SCC) and Directive Enforcement Department (DED), Federal Robotics is a capsuleer-chartered corporation recognized by CONCORD. FEDRO was founded with start-up capital and a small corporate legal team provided by the Aliastra [A] corporation. The company remains affiliated to its parent megacorp, co-locating the FEDRO headquarters office with Aliastra's in the Alillere system, although officially it enjoys a legally non-affiliated international status as a capsuleer corporation. Shortly after its founding, the company launched its first operations in Gallente Federation space.

(http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/2028/icon1116.png) FEDRO Business Model
Federal Robotics is built on a vertically self-sufficient production model, meaning that all steps in the production cycle from resource exploration and extraction through blueprint development and refinement to supply chain logistics and customer support are incorporated into the company. After somewhat higher initial outlays, uninterrupted control over inputs at each level of the production cycle means that operating overhead is kept low while output, innovation, and market flexibility can be consistently high.

As a capsuleer corporation, FEDRO is naturally interstellar in reach, but it also crosses the transorbital boundary to integrate planetary resources into space-based operations thanks to the easing of development restrictions on capsuleer enterprises across New Eden in mid-YC112. Employing sustainable extraction techniques, Federal Robotics intends to tap these resources, particularly on previously underutilized "virgin" worlds like many of those found in the Syndicate and Outer Ring regions.

((FEDRO is an immersionist roleplay corporation built on the concept of a for-profit consortium of industrialist capsuleers. It is not explicitly involved in cluster politics outside of those that affect its bottom line, but the corporation intends to live and work in and around Gallente space and thus is most likely to be economically and politically affiliated with the Federation and the pilots who live there. Capsuleers of all races and backgrounds are of course welcome within its ranks.))

(http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/1599/icon5507.png) FEDRO Goals
Federal Robotics strives toward the long-term goal of becoming a cluster-wide industry leader in the development and manufacture of safe, reliable, and highly-advanced artificially intelligent machinery and computing devices for a wide range of applications from multi-use recyclable nanite pastes to cutting-edge drone swarm command and control firmware to the latest in domestic robotics. The first steps on that path lie in developing cost-effective supply chains for the production of industrial and combat drone units, designing and prototyping a debut line of drone models and nanotechnology applications, and integrating gravity well resource gathering infrastructure with space-based  manufacturing.

(http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/4521/icon0216.png) FEDRO Organization
Federal Robotics is a privately-held company led by a Senior Executive Team consisting of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Chief Technical Officer (CTO), and directed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Each senior executive position oversees a separate division of the company. The COO oversees the Production Division, the CFO oversees the Marketing Division, and the CTO oversees the Innovation Division. FEDRO is headquartered in the Alillere system.

((Federal Robotics is currently looking for innovative, enterprising, and energetic capsuleer industrialists, scientists, and explorers living in or near Federation space (or willing to move) to help with its research and manufacturing operations. Maturity, humor, and a team-first attitude are a must. If you are interested in talking about available positions with the company, please contact CEO Lilen enDama by NeoCom or join our in-character public chat channel: “Three Laws”.))

A native of Intaki Prime, FEDRO founder and chief executive Lilen en Dama studied interplanetary economics at Caille University and began her capsuleer career with the Ophidian Corporation [OPHC], a biotech R&D and medical services firm based in the Intaki system.  When OPHC was acquired by retail giant Aliastra, en Dama oversaw the quick and efficient liquidation of company assets and the reorganization of Ophidian planetside operations into a now-profitable local pharmaceutical business.  Looking to invest in the lucrative drone and AI industry via the capsuleer market, Aliastra chose en Dama to lead their latest venture in YC113.

Corporate Roleplay
... FEDRO is an immersionist roleplay corporation built on the concept of a for-profit consortium of capsuleers.  It is not explicity involved in cluster politics outside of those that affect its bottom line, but the corporation intends to live and work in Gallente space...
I am finding corporate roleplay to be a real challenge.  I have been trying to run a company-type entity for the past 2-3 years.

Most of the time, corps encourage members to be self-sufficient.  The cogs can come and go as they please and the corp doesn't slow down.

Also, the game's mechanics make this a challenge.  Even something like valuing corporate property, I do via a work around using the contract mechanisms and base value (under values items & BPOs, especially T2 items, overvalues BPCs).  Monitoring contribution to the bottom line and managing corporate assets like Jump Freighters (I know, plenty of people have those on individuals) only complicates matters more.

You really need to emphasis the consortium aspect of the corporation,  someone joins the corp, their total revenue-over-time should go up (not necessarily individual revenue).  This is not too challenging to do in a small corp where a trader looks for deals to provide the researchers/manufacturers with tools/materials.  To build corporate profit, you have to look towards true corporate assets, but even these need to be supported and managed by members (and thus they take parts of the profit).

Corporate RP isn't easy.

Thanks for the advice, Dex!  It is much appreciated.  Of course, I don't think I have a reputation for taking on the easy challenges, and if it turns out to be as tough as you describe, I'll be glad that I'm not straying too far from my habits.  Anyway, bearing just such things as you mention in mind, I have been speaking with someone who has particularly extensive experience in the matter and am hoping to hire them as Federal Robotics COO in the next few days.  :)

Will you be active with the character and RP?  If you answered yes to these questions, we'd be happy to have you!

Corporate RP isn't easy.

Hm, I always got the impression it was far easier and more attractive to outsiders. Maybe because of the carebear-to-RPer ratio.

It's difficult to emulate RL corporations directly in EVE for all sorts of reasons. However, one can set up an EVE-style corp with all sorts of relevant RP. I wouldn't call it "easy", exactly, but the concepts aren't too complex in themselves.

Having a look at news, I ran into the homepage of a RL corp called Zen Robotics. (They are developing intelligent garbage / recycling robots.) The page is worth refreshing a few times.
A robot company that has "It's alive. Muhahahaa!" and "Humans! Those tiny insects! [THUNDER]" as corporate slogans can't be not awesome, right?
