I'd think some sort of bazaar would do well. Think about where people tend to hang out, sort of a "third place" (not "home" or "work", whatever that means for a capsuleer anyway).

Alternately, not a physical location.

If you dont want a bar/club. Then how about a lounge or common room in a station.

What do you see as the major distinctions between a bar/club and a lounge/common room?

They seem to be practically identical except for flavour text as they serve similar roles.

Gym's, markets, Zero-G dance halls etc seem to gather people together to do things other than sit and talk.

I giggled.

Anyhow, Aracturus, in every RP establishment there's a balance between flexibility and uniqueness. Flexibility refers to an establishment's ability to handle different kinds of RP activity - discussion, conflict, business, etc.
Uniquness... I don't think I need to explain.

A new bar would be flexible - a lot of stuff can happen in a bar -  but as others have been saying, not very unique.

Something like a gyn, marketplace, etc., while unique, has the downside of being rather more inflexible.

Find your preferred balance between the two, and you can get what you want out of a location. Keep in mind that either extreme is unlikely to get you a great deal.
