If ever there were a case to be made for tech journalism hypocrisy, we can find it in the Apple circle-jerk fawning coverage.

Apple stories drive web traffic; I think I counted something like 6 or 7 apple stories on the front page of WIRED a few weeks ago, at the same time.

I especially like the memes that quote the negative samsung galaxy reviews for being too large and bulky and then quote the larger iphone screens as being orgasmic and wonderful.

:P

It's a phone. It does things, possibly slightly better than older phones.

There. That's all there is to really say.

It's the same disease that infects most of the whole manufacturing industry. They're not selling things to people who don't have things. They're selling things to people who already have those things.

The performance difference is negligible.

NEW! DONT BE A DINOSAUR!

lame.

And I'm just sitting here having Cortana tell me jokes.

Sent from my Windows Phone, which as it turns out is a fucking fantastic mobile OS.

I was going to get the new Nokia because I loved it after playing with a friend of mine's and I have to get a new phone with my new carrier, but since I am switching carriers getting an iPhone 6 Plus will add a mere ten dollars a month to my phone bill with nothing extra up front. If I wasn't getting the deal I am, I would still be getting the Nokia. I don't use my phone for much besides texting and reading news/blogs, so all the snazzy camera and video stuff means nothing to me. But I figured, meh, at ten bucks a month I won't have to relearn how a different company does phone OS or anything. My phones always last long (my current iPhone 4 is still going strong) in the cases I buy, but switching carriers is forcing me to get a new phone.

Google Nexus 5 dominates all of you.

No bloatware ;)

But as mentioned above, we live in times of 'designed obsolescence.'

If we stop constantly buying new shit, capitalism grinds to a halt.
