After landing on Caille, you make your arrival through the maglev line connecting Caille proper to Chantide, a ride of a dozen of minutes at best.
The gallentean Alpha city of Chantide is located upstream near one of the Stomeve river affluents in the Alpine region of Caille surroundings. It is remarkable for that it is located in a big chasm opened in the crust of the continent, and mostly follows a completely vertical design. Most streets are layered into various levels until they reach the top of the chasm through public elevators or the buildings and spires themselves.
Being most of the day plunged into the shadow of the canyon itself, the city is famous for its lights and illuminations, whether at night, or during the day, lending it the colloquial name of the "Nocturnal City".
The size of the city is rather small compared to most modern metropolises and metroplexes that can be found on most densely populated worlds: while it has never been absorded into Caille giant conurbation, it remains a cultural oddity of sorts.
It has been chosen as the host city for the New Eden's Fair premiere, and street vendors, artists, and night animation has at least tripled in size and activity. Walking across those streets under the neon bright lights of the vendors or the soft, smooth illuminations of residential areas provides you with a feeling of serenity. Various smells of local recipes or street food fill your nostrils, and you can appreciate the reduced size of the quiet urbanism at work here.
Important note: Security is tight and mostly handled by the Caille local police force assisted by Federal expert officials. While most of the streets are safe from any harm or incident, wandering deeper in the city for capsuleers is at your own risk: although the city remains pretty secure and Caille baseliners are all but hostile to capsuleers, it will not prevent oddities to happen, especially in private places.
New Eden's Fair - The Hostel Mahjong Parlor (To the parlor/cafe)
______________________________________________________________
The Hostel is a tall spire located in the middle of Chantide city, not far from the maglev connection to the Aiguillon Spire, where the Fair is held. This particular luxurious building has been chosen to accomodate all the staff and guests for the Fair, baseliners and capsuleers alike, although capsuleers have their own private wing dedicated to them. It acts not only as a hotel, but also offers various other activities such as shopping and a mahjong parlor that serves various functions such as cafe, restaurant, or more traditional Jin-Mei mahjong tables.
The entry hall is set up in old classic Garoun style with white tall walls and sculpted archways. While the occasional devices and furniture are of obvious modern facture and electronic or holographic nature, most of the building itself remains very traditionnal.
The capsuleer wing reserves full suites for capsuleers and sponsors alike: those suites are incredibly large and spacious, counting many rooms and balconies for every single one of them. They all include everything that would be required, from private kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms to conference rooms. They also feature an advanced holographic setup that can serve as a full time augmented reality changing the look of the environment if the guest so desires, effectively turning the room into an estate located in the jungle, in arctic climate, in space, or any location suiting his tastes.
The building is named after a couple of famous gallentean figures, one at the origin of the city (Sheldon Candaria), and the other one later one as the architect having designed and built the Aiguillon Spire (Cecil Espalier).
Important note: The security is handled by automatic systems such as paralyzing dart throwers and electrifiers, security staff, but any weapon, concealed or not will be detected anywhere inside by high tech scanners and disabled by special jammers.

As you come out of the maglev connection to Chantide in the subway station just under the spire, you emerge in a short series of corridors leading to a security checkpoint where various people can be seen waiting - baseliners and capsuleers alike. All firearms are to be handled, and all personal weaponry augmentations are not allowed inside either.
Past that point, you step in a huge, well lit hall mostly in various tones of white with the occasional vegetal spots completing the picture. The overall sleek, modern straight lines are rather typical of a lot of the gallente alpha cities, where augmented reality is part of life and can be linked to personal implants for a better awareness of every piece of info one can glean. Colossal holographic screens adorn the top of the walls and relay the same kind of news reports or documentaries related to the exhibitions.
Portals leading to every exhibition are located around the room, with clear signs leading the way to where the sponsors chose to exhibit, in various dedicated wings of the building.
Another door leads to an elevator up to the top of the spire where the auditorium is located.

NEF EXHIBITIONS - TES Empress's Bounty
Lunarisse Daphiti
Location: TES Empress's Bounty, Luxury Yacht
A small but lush space. A White Arbor stands at the entrance with a rambling climbing Blush Pink Colored Rose Bush entwined along its arch. At the base of the arbor are the Yellow blooms of the Forsythia bush. Should you enter under the arch, you entered into an small enclosed garden space in a hexagonal room with four portals, in addition to the entrance.
There is an informational table along with marble benches for visitors.
A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in the center of the space, and explains:
Gardens can be a window into a culture. This can be reflected by the lay-out, the purpose and use, and the plants themselves. Traditions also can arise and be reflected by gardens. These traditions are often informed by 'popular' piety in additional to more formal prescriptions. It is the hope of this Exhibitor that the Gardens of the Empire may provide an insight into the soul of the Empire. For example, in this small room itself, there is the Forsythia, commonly known as the "Golden Bower", or more whimsically, the "Golden Fleet", beloved for its clusters of massed golden flowers. Gold, of course, is color associated with the Empire and commoners often show their pride in selecting this rambling bush for their gardens which greets each spring with its blooms. The blush pink rose is known as Jamyl's Rose and was specially bred in honor of her coronation as Empress, using rose varieties from across the Empire to represent unity.
Today, the Exhibit is pleased to present four garden archetypes:
A Formal Garden of Dam Torsad
A Khanid Meditation Garden
A Colonist's Garden
A Ni-Kunni Water Garden from Mishi IV

High, well trimmed Box Hedges frame a manicured lawn and garden beds framed by lower hedges. The Box Hedges are laid down in patterns rich in the Empire's symbology.
Beyond the hedges, due to holographic tech, appears the sprawling metropolis of Dam Torsad, Its golden towers shine high above. The noises of the city filter through the hedges: prayer drones, bells, and the hustle of traffic.
The formal garden beds are intricate in their designs and highly structured and stylized without a single flower out of place. The beds include: Lady's Mantle (http://i.imgur.com/S4cqeZx.jpg), Iris (http://i.imgur.com/ik7GJfY.jpg) a.k.a "Sceptri" coupled with the Daffodil (http://i.imgur.com/nrY7C0F.jpg) a.k.a "Coronaeque".
At the center is a formal rose garden surrounding a Statue of Empress Jamyl I. The roses include Jamyl's Rose (http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/eve-online-news/new-breed-of-rose-named-in-honour-of-the-empress/?_ga=1.130893130.494868212.1439562935) and a rose variety known as "The Holder's Daughter." At different places are benches for contemplation and quiet talks.
A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in, and explains:
The Formal Gardens of Dam Torsad are reflective of the nobility and the Emperor Family. The designs of the gardens go back centuries, even millenia.
Box hedges are popular because they are easily shaped to impose order and structure on the gardens or pruned into the symbols that the Amarr Faith and Empire are so rich in.
The Septri and Coronaeque are a traditional pairing. They are meant to symbolize the Ametat and Avetat (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Ametat_and_Avetat), also known as the Sceptre and the Crown in common parlance. They are associated with the Sefrim (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Sefrim) and the First Emperor Amash-Akura (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Amash-Akura),
The Formal Gardens are also known for their statuary which honor the Military Heroes, Holders, and the vast pantheon of Saints, Prophets, Emperors through the ages. Popular piety often arises around such statuary. For example, some commoners will weave a crown of roses for the Empress Jamyl as way of gratitude for the Divine Miracle and her dispatch of the Elder Fleet.

Formal stone walls enclose an austere space. A stepping stone path winds through the space. On each side the garden beds are filled with rounded, smooth pebbles and stones. Carefully tended and sculpted bushes and trees with highly stylistic forms grow in the beds. These include the Emperor's Tree (http://i.imgur.com/oEKxWXW.jpg), Khanid Maple (http://i.imgur.com/tLTtOre.jpg), Athra Cedar (http://i.imgur.com/vy1NL6K.jpg), and Golden Fir (http://i.imgur.com/DUev1AK.gif).
At times, jagged rocks are laid down. The path passes a small pond filled with Water Lilies (http://i.imgur.com/TW1G76N.jpg) and ends at a bare corner square bed that is filled with fine powdery white sand. Resting against one wall of the sand bed is a rake. At both the pond and the sand bed are stone benches.
Beyond the walls, due to holographic tech, appears a series of cliffs and rounded hills with a path leading up to an ornate Keep that lies far away from the crowded, polluted, Dark Khanid (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Culture_of_the_Khanid_Kingdom#Dark_Khanid) cities of the Kingdom.
A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in, and explains:
That Khanid people are known for both their martial discipline, as evidenced by their Cyber Knights (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Khanid_Cyber_Knights), and their zealotry for the faith, as evidenced by their Zealots (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Khanid_Zealots). Austere and formal gardens such as these serve as spaces where the Khanid military and religious orders, such as the Khanid Mashtori (http://backstage.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?topic=1074.0) an elite sect of bounty hunters, can readily meditate and focus without distraction from more ephemeral sights and sensations of their crowded cities. The sands in the bed can be raked into simple patterns which, along with the pond and the stylized trees, are meant to serve as aids to meditation. Even the rocks and stones serve this purpose and are rarely placed in straight lines or in symmetrical patterns.

There is the quiet sound of water falling, and trickling. The garden resembles an oasis nestled into a niche surrounded by canyon walls on three sides and, thanks to holographic tech, opening to what seems to be endless desert sands. It is well lit from a full moon which hangs on the sky of Mishi IV (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mishi_IV). Stars sparkle like jewels in the night,
From a spring fed high up in the canyon, descends a waterfall which cascades into a clear blue pool. Surrounding the pool are frail, but verdant Water Baron Fig (http://i.imgur.com/Id1TDM0.jpg) and Emperor's Date Palm trees (http://i.imgur.com/9ZirQoa.jpg). Small bushes grow in clusters of Desert Rose (http://i.imgur.com/hFNlz6z.jpg), Fern of the Desert (http://i.imgur.com/YU4k3Hd.jpg), and Wattle around a winding path. Steppe Skink and Al-Dehr Beetles scuttle through the undergrowth.
The scents of the Desert Honeysuckle (http://i.imgur.com/Ye2DP0F.jpg), known as the Angel's Trumpet, and the Bird of Paradise (http://i.imgur.com/y26A1h2.jpg) flower, which bears spicy fruits, fill the air. Oasis of Heaven Water Lilies (http://i.imgur.com/aufB9GJ.jpg) bob quietly in the pond.
A fire burns in a Brazier of smoked wood. In the background is the sound of traditional ni-kunni Wind Dancing music.
A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in, and explains:
The Ni-Kunni (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Ni-Kunni) originated on the desert world of Mishi IV. Water is scarce on this harsh planet. Pre-Reclamation, water barons controlled large swaths of people and resources by virtue of their control of that precious resource, water, which is so common elsewhere. Water is a sign of wealth and power.
While now Reclaimed, water continues to hold deep spiritual meaning for them. The ancient peoples worshiped a number of gods until enlighted as to the one true God. Paramount among them were the life-giving water god worshipped by the nomadic desert peoples and a rain god worshipped by city dwellers. Common to each is the belief in angels who supplied water to a thirsty people. Oasises, such as the one represented here, were cherished as holy places.
Even today, the Ni-Kinni give thanks to the one true God for the gifts of water. The presence of rain, or a spring, is seen as a Blessing. Being associated with wealth, prosperous Holders, artisans and merchants often craft private walled water gardens for meditation and prayer. Water is used in Prayer and Blessings by clergy.

A metal fence marks a square plot adjacent to a utilitarian habitat structure. Thanks to holographic tech, beyond the garden appear straight roads and adjacent habitats, warehouses and industrial structures leading off in all directions until ending at a dome. Outside the dome can be seen the purple and red clouds of a Storm Planet (http://eveplanets.com/eve/planet/index/show/Storm). The tiered clouds extend up to an obscured sky. Jagged bolts of chain lightning flicker back and forth. A shuttle, buffeted by winds, struggles to make its way to a landing facility outside. Strange alien creatures, almost like airborne Jelly Fish (http://i.imgur.com/WWL5N1d.jpg) dart between the clouds.
The square plot is plowed in neat rows. Rows of corn are spaced wide enough to allow a person to walk through. Next to the habitat's entrance are two small beds containing kitchen herbs, such as Lavender, Parsley, Sweet Basil, Oregeno, Saint Junip's Wort, Amarr Chamomile, Rosemary and Spearmint.
A holographic recording by Lunarisse Aspenstar flickers in and explains:
The Amarr have a long History (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/New_Eden_(cluster)#Amarr_Empire) of colonization, in addition to Reclamation. There is no room for frivolities in a colonial garden. Space is at a premium and the crops are necessary to sustain the isolated colony. Besides providing for nutritional needs, such gardens help to filter and re-oxygenate air and provide biomass, some of which is composted into fertilizer for the next round of crops. Here, the staple crop is 'corn' but each crop is selected based on the colony's needs. Often, a household will also keep an herb garden to add flavor to their foods, the beauty of the plants being a beneficial but unnecessary side-effect.
Many of the crops and herbs date back to the dawn of the Empire. Intrigingly, they can also be found in other civilizations in the cluster, lending support to the common origin theory (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Terran) of the races of humanity.
This type of garden is also typical of those maintained by slaves in their private quarters, where space permits, to supplement their diet and perhaps to give them a small space of their own.
NEF EXHIBITIONS - Kamikawa Ryokan
Aurora Morgan
As you walk through the doors you get an uncanny feeling that you have travelled through time, what on the outside seemed unremarkable on the inside is cozy, cold and distinctly... Achuran.
You are now just ahead of the entrance hall, and you read on a sign available in many languages.
> We welcome you to the Kamikawa Ryokan, moved
> to Caille today for your pleasure. It is winter in
> Kamikawa right now and so we are offering you
> some of our favorite Achuran winter experiences.
>
> You are expected to remove your shoes before
> stepping in.
A young woman stands by the entrance handing out blankets to those who are interested, she also makes sure no one enters with their shoes on. She smiles at you as you enter the hall.
Hall
(http://www.dkcontractors.biz/uploads/1/3/2/8/13288406/5215767_orig.jpg)
In the center of the entrance hall there is a hearth with a coal fire burning. Around it, some Achur who look like staff are boiling water for tea. They are chatting amongst themselves but look inviting. Once in a while, they walk around the room, looking for people who may need a refill or want to order something.
Around the hearth there are traditional kotatsu (http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/03/d3/1b/59/yarimikan.jpg), tables placed over a charcoal heater in the floor. Around the edges of the tables, a quilt is attached to keep the heat from escaping. Beyond that, there are small rooms for people who want some more privacy.
To your left there's a reception desk with an old man wrapped in a blanket, heating himself on a small fire, he's friendly and chatty, he keeps track of everyone going to the rooms behind him. If you don't have a room for the night yet, he will be more than happy to help you book one. He can also help you get everything ready for you to be able to visit the fake onsen (http://), or hot springs.
If you sit down, you will be brought a menu (http://www.notehub.org/2015/9/26/menu) of traditional Achur winter cuisine.

After the old man has been convinced that you understand the customs, and so on, you find yourself with a set of bathrobes and a towel as you walk out into the baths.
The first station to survive before the warm water is the bathing station, where you are expected to wash, there's a place to leave your clothes and a hot shower and toiletries such as soap and shampoo in a bucket next to it.
After you are clean, you can go into the onsen, but as you get closer you can also feel it getting colder, and as you open the door out, you can feel the full winter cold hit you. But the faux view, over a winter landscape is beautiful, even if you realize that all of it is just a holoprojection.

NEF EXHIBITIONS - Bryillbland a Dagn di Gallenci
Aedre Lafisques
This booth is simple - a plain table, with three folding chairs and a bottle of wine and a stack of glasses. Behind it, to either side of an open space are traditional costumes, male and female. Recogniseably Gallente is the styling, organic curves that make tailoring needlessly difficult and expensive, excessive fabric expertly crafted into folds and pinches to create an effect that recalls rolling ocean waves.
Less familiar to usual Gallente presentation might be the bright, warm colours, though often against black. Men’s suits are as decorated as the womens’, presumably to capture the same attention and highlight movement. While each suit is different, there are similarities; conservative dark pants are offset by coloured, airy shirts with extra material expertly cascading about the collars and down the front. Sleeves are billowy and either tightly cuffed at the wrist with dazzling buttons or with long tails sometimes decorated with a pattern. Meanwhile, dresses are all cut somewhat high on one side, but otherwise range from exposed sleeveless to type of sleeving somewhat similar to the mens’. Some come with elaborate hairpins with the feathers of local birds.
Between the two rows of costumes an open area is equipped with sound equipment and synthetic boards layed down to make a largish square. A lone chair sits in this area as well.
