Title: We need a musical parody
Post by: Anslol on 11 Jun 2013, 14:14
Title says it all. We sing a song, change verses to be character specific, record it, become famous.

WHAT SAY YOU?!

(general opinions, etc, GO)

I don't remember if I cried
when I read Pax Amarria the first time,
but something touched me deep inside,
The day Heideran died.

So bye, bye you Emperor guy,
I'll praise Doriam in the forum,
but I'm not gonna lie,
our best hope for peace just up and died,
Reclaimings starting, gonna sign-up with PIE.

Stitch and I were half-assedly considering doing a full rewrite of Pirates of Penzance. We've already got the first third of the Modern Major-General's song done. :3

He also wrote a parody of The Wild Rover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afO3IQX2Qnc) on the spot during the Fanfest pub crawl, though I don't recall the lyrics off-hand.

Still regret nothing.

The major-generals song awesome by itself. The whole penzance, fucking epic. If you get Kelsey Grammer to sing, deity status.

Wait can you contact me about this? I'm good at this sort of thing.

I did a thing.

I am the very model of a Cardinal Amarrian
I've worked for years to spread God’s word to Minmatar barbarians
I’ve slain all sorts of heretics from Blooders to the Tetrimons
Of which I saw their texts burn bright through inner adjudications

Though loyalty to grand Amarr was clearly my priority,
I could not help but wonder what drove heretics to do their deeds.
Was knowledge hidden to prevent our faith from being criticized?...
…Well, more than what we often see from Tribals oh so Balkanized.

My mind was set, my path was clear, I journeyed forth into the fray,
For years and years I’d fly through space to learn from day to day to day.
The more I saw, the more I grasped the ways of those outside Amarr,
And just why Reclamation must occur no matter how damn hard.

The Gallente embraced the ways of sinful pleasure bountiful,
The Caldari would worship that which had no way to save their soul,
The Minmatar were running wild, invading space of those allied,
While Jovians said not one word, because they had most likely died…

So while I tried to glean and gain a sense of Godly tolerance,
I could not accept customs of so many cultures aberrance.
In short, I’ve chosen God’s path to reclaim all these barbarians, (wait 3 seconds aaaand..)
For I am the very model of a Cardinal Amarrian.

The version MorLag and I came up with was "I am the very model of a modern EWAR specialist."

As for my own effort:

Quote
♫♪I've played the drunk pilot for many's the year,
and I've lost many ships to the whisky and beer.
But now I am docking with ISK in great store,
and I'll play the drunk pilot fore-evermore

[chorus]
And it's EVE On-li-ine... forevermore!
Well I'll play the drunk pilot for-evermore.

I docked at a station I used to frequent
and I told my poor FC "my ISK is all spent"
I asked for a new ship, he answered "lol no"
"Just fit hero tackle, we're ready to go"

[chorus]

I drew from my hangar an Abaddon bright
and I heard over teamspeak my FC's delight
He said "you're the bait, 'cause at tanking you're best"
"Now drink up, let's go get some killmails from TEST"

[chorus]

I'll leave all the other online games alone
for the stars of New Eden are where I'm at home
The intrigue, the meta, the scams and the war
are why I will play the drunk pilot some more

[chorus]

♫♪

I've a few that are somewhat lost to the void, they might be on a harddrive somewhere if I can be bothered to find them.

This one (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=466906#post466906) however I still attribute to being my best piece of work.
