Title: [HOLO] Heretics
Post by: Repentence Tyrathlion on 03 Dec 2011, 06:17
Released soon after the series Tru Blood (http://backstage.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?topic=1129.0), which was outright banned and condemned across the Empire, Heretics takes a similar theme and attempts to remain a little more down-to-earth.

Set in and around the Amarrian Empire, Heretics follows several distinct sets of characters, including the Heretics of the name - a secretive Sani Sabik sect operating on the Empire-Mandate border.  Although primarily following the story of the elite Inquisitor Chasra and his ragtag retinue, and the sect led by the menacing, charismatic Lord Nathron, Heretics has unflinchingly taken on other matters, such as conflicts between the Matari and Ammatar, Gallente ultra-nationalism and most recently, the Sansha incursions.  Varying between bloody, uncompromising violence, intelligent detective and political deductions, and plenty of sex and eye-candy, Heretics is very much not one for the children.

Although condemned by many and seldom out of the press, Heretics has received cautious praise from some more liberal parts of the Empire and Kingdom for its positive portrayal of the Inquisition, and unromanticised, if somewhat sexualised take on the Sani Sabik - "A vast improvement over the blasphemous nonsense of certain other productions," one anonymous critic has remarked.

Produced by an independent corporation with links in both Caldari and Gallente space - and, some whisper, in shadier places - many predict that Heretics' boldness with touchy political issues will eventually have dire consequences; but for now, it remains enough of a money spinner that its backers have kept it out of trouble.

Been meaning to put this up for a while.  Morwen and Reppy needed some kind of entertainment to keep them busy during the trickier times, and I concocted a vague description of Heretics - which Morlag has been encouraging me to post ever since.
