Title: Hi There!
Post by: Vice on 03 Dec 2011, 00:18
I've been playing EVE since the summer of '09, which I started after reading an article about how GHSC had assassinated someone from Aegis Militia and had stolen... whatever it was, I don't remember. A game that allowed those sorts of things to happen without smacking you on the nose and saying 'bad dog!', that didn't hold your hand and give you a medal for trying, that had huge freedom, was very interesting, and I was hooked.

Recently I've been wanting to get into RP a bit more, but I've been finding myself at a loss on how to start. I've never really RP'd much before, save for a few times when I played the d20 Star Wars RPGs with siblings (which ended up being extremely combat heavy with pretty much no focus on character development or interaction). So if anyone has some hints or tips for someone new to RP'ing in EVE, or in general, I'd love to hear them!

So, hello, nice to meet you, and please go easy on me! :P

It's not safe to go alone. Take this:

And with that out of the way, keep in mind there will be plenty of coffe, tea, boosters, spirits, cookies of various flavors and assorted other stuff offered, as well as greetings from a very diverse ensemble...

They can help you with your needs.

MY first advice will be to share what, if any, RP angle you considered going, and failing that - if you got no idea - perhaps sharing any info on your toon(s) and what you do. EVE online is a very diverse game and RP equally so, you will find RP'ers do alot of stuff, it will help to know where in all that your interests may lie.

Damnit, Ghost beat me to it.

Hi there.

And yes, Ghost is a whale. (though, a whale with less SPs than Silver)

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I haven't really considered an RP angle too much (I am pretty newbish), though my main's history (she is Achuran, by the way) may make some angles a bit more difficult (the first corp I joined ended up in the Caldari FW, and my second corp joined the Amarr FW before moving to a CVA holder alliance). I currently am in one of the Goon-allied alliances, and I mostly PvP with a bit of ratting on the side.

Blastech, Merr-Sonn, Sorosuub or other?

To tell the truth, it's been somewhere around 5 or 6 years since I even looked the book.
