Storm Wind and the Forest

One day Storm Wind came to the woods
to see the Forest Heart.
He found her by the green kresh trees,
tending the fire and warmth.

He brought some pain along with him
to spare the greater good.
Wind did not speak but in cold gusts:
I cannot be with you.

It's true I am no Wind, she said, and I can't fight like you.
I'll make you feel, this much I swear, so you will know hurt too.
Yes you will feel, this much I swear, and you will know hurt too.

One day Storm Wind came to the woods
to see the Forest Heart.
The hearth was cold, kresh wilting dark
and she was gone for good.

It's true I am no Wind, she said, and I can't fight like you.
I'll make you feel, this much I swear, so you will know hurt too.

By the way, this is loosely inspired by Caldari "Way of the Winds" myth. Storm Wind is the Caldari Spirit of Fighting and Heart-of-the-Forest the Nurturing Spirit.

She also uses her resources wisely; everything in the forest serves a purpose, however small. Heart-of-the-Forest is perhaps the best known teacher among the spirits, aside from Cold Wind, although she rarely tells anyone anything directly, preferring to teach by example. She is prominent in Caldari beliefs about the home and hearth, and part of the reason Caldari tend to prefer wood in their buildings, especially homes.

Of course the Way of the Winds has nothing on Spirits leaving each other, as far as I know.

The question is... what if?
