Ship crews either spend most of their journey in their escape pods, and are awoken with adrenaline only as needed?(Source: The Burning Life novel by CCP Abraxas.) or live aboard ship much like ship's crews today? (Source)

I think the most impressed I've ever been with someone's living arrangements was Vincent's flagship, it was gorgeous from what I remember of it.

Hmm.

Varlerian, being the business man that he is, owns and maintains rather modest hotel suites on stations stretching across State and Federation space. For times he's on the move, he has retrofitted both his Machariel and Orca to have private quarters where he can stay during times outside his capsule. The private quarters on both ships are modest in size and decor, only slightly above those that house the crew for each ship. For assets outside of space, he has his family-owned island estate located in a fairly tropical region of Abagawa IV where he retreats to every once in a long while to visit his sister and mother. Yes, all in all, I would consider Varlerian to be a rather modest, frugal man when it comes to the properties he chooses to call home.

As for Korsavius, he too can be considered rather modest. The only ships he installs private quarters on are those that are above a cruiser hull (the only exception being his Loki). Even then, they are small quarters, furnished with only the basic necessities one would need in space. Korsavius has recently purchased a small parcel of land alongside one of the lakes located in the biodome of the Intaki V - Moon V - Astral Mining station, however. He has plans to construct a luxurious lakehouse where he can retreat to after a long day on patrol.

Silas has an extensive palatial family estate on Khanid Prime, where she has been living out of the public eye in near seclusion these last six months.

When on active duty she has a rather ornate residence aboard her flagship Archon. Square footage being at a premium and expensive on vessels, she's made it a point to carve out entirely vast and empty residential spaces, just to show off that she -can-.

Even as a wealthy capsuleer Lucius struggles with his low birth and the decline of his impoverished noble family. In Amarr society money isn't all (though it helps to have lots of it :D); a merchant is still a commoner. After he migrated to the Khanid Kingdom he lost what little was left of his noble legacy in the Empire.

He is willing to take on any expense to increase his status or make him look more aristocratic than he really is. He likes to surround himself with servants and yes-men to feed his delusions. He has even built a large over-the-top estate inside the compound of his planetary command center on Khanid Prime that he calls his "Palace". His family lives there permanently. Lucius himself only rarely stays there, and is more often found in luxury hotel suites in the stations he visits, or those in the offices of the Khanid Trade Syndicate. He only uses his captain quarters if he finds the station he visits to be distasteful.

Sai and most of my alts stay at various station apartments, usually centered on wherever Rho Dynamics is based at at the time.  Sai does have quarters on her Primae, which has been converted into a rarely undocked mobile corp headquarters so it really has the whole set, offices, quarters, board rooms, etc.

Sometime in the future though, I was planning to have Sai end up on a supercarrier, endlessly wandering the stars, which I admit I got from an EvE story about Thukkers (I think) worshiping the pod pilot who flew the ship in a kind of living saint sort of way.  And no, I don't remember where the story was.

Techie has a CQ....somewhere....wherever he happens to dock for the night.  But most often than not, he's curled up happily snoozing away on one of the beanbag chairs in the Skyhook.  This is, of course, to the chagrin of the housekeeping staff who try to convince him to go to a room.  Old habits of sleeping in weird places die hard, though.

Should probably update it, but Milo has typically lived station-side in lowsec (and once Syndicate) for the past three years or so.

13 days since last post, but what the hell.

Marcus tends to live on the Orca, Spirit of Wind in quite large quarters, converted from the observation deck at the top of the crossbar type thing on the dorsal-stern part of the Orca. He kept the huge observation window looking out over the ship, stern to bow. It's a civilian ship class, not intended for combat, so the quarters are quite luxurious and open plan. The combat ships, like the Machariel are different though, space is premium, so quarters have the bare minimum requirements.

If he's not in the same station as the Orca, he'll bunk down on whatever ship he's using at the time, though.

A downtown penthouse on the tallest building in a coastal city on Ohide III. Grae is a holder there, after a certain Khanid player was driven away and ceded it to him.

He doesn't sleep well there. The city he runs is surrounded by Holders who plot against him constantly, plus the Sarumite families who have been conspiring to destroy him since before he was a capsuleer (origin story stuff) have many agents in the area.

It's a full on power struggle, with only a capsuleer's wealth and the hiring of competent 'specialist contractors' from the State to stem the tide. A lot of bodies wash up on the beach-side of this town, and everyone keeps quiet as to the reasons.

This has led to Graelyn being in bed with many local crime groups, and the often corrupt clergy in the area. Economic opportunity brought about by Graelyn's violent purging of corruption and the vested interests of the neighboring Holders is countered by growing crime as a result.

If Grae really wants a full night's sleep, or needs a safe place to be during a particularly violent week, he sits in geo-synchrous orbit around the planet in a cloaky Pilgrim, the Vow of Silence.

The rest of the time, he's in Kamela, in the Wolf's Den (Wolfbrigade has truly made the system theirs at this point).

Cia has a secure cargo container converted to hold an artificial 'planet-like' environment with illusory holo-generated views, sky, weather with appropriate temperature changes, and a day/night cycle. She has a house in the style of her native city inside, with a garden and so on,  at a level of luxury appropriate for the quite but not extremely wealthy where she comes from.

When away from her home station for the night, she generally stays on her ship, in fairly minimalist accommodation aboard - with the exception of her Proteus, which has much more luxurious on-board accommodation.

While not doing work for Stimulus, Logan can be found in his modest, if sparse quarters in TXW-EI. begrudgingly bought from Syndicate owners when Rote Kapelle took full residence there a few years ago. The purchase has allowed Logan to customize his quarters with the needed extra security and sensor suites required to keep his guests safe and his door secure.

While not palatial by any means, his quarters are kept mostly tidy (with the exception of a few broken glasses), well stocked with various recreational drugs and Alcohol. The twin "windows" in the room are actually expensive view-plates simulating an external view of the docking port of the station, the actual room not directly facing the exterior of the station.

Logan has various other haunts, including smaller quarters in Stacmon, Maut and other undisclosed locations. All feature advanced security and likely bribes of local officials to look the other way when the terrorist arrives on station.

The closest thing to long-term quarters Simon has are his rooms on Asvasana, his long-standing mission Myrmidon.  It's rarely under threat and usually close by, so it makes sense.  They might be a little cramped, but he's put a bit of effort into making them comfortable and familiar.  Outside that, he prefers to splash money on garishly extravagant temporary quarters when he needs them.

Tib used to maintain quarters in various places in the state and empire.  Since joining TS-F, he's been sleeping where-ever he can, usually inside his ships.

He dreams, though, in the virtual.
